It is Shetty who helped SRK keep up with competition. Not other way round.

They have a point.

This is probably the only filmmaker-actor jodi to have two successful franchises to their credit

I am happy for them. They were bashed or ignored by critics and certain section of media.

This is also inspirational example of childhood friends turning into successful professional collaborators as adults.

Though I still want Ajay to keep doing Zakhm type cinema side by side and balance between commercial and quality films. That way he can have decent innings in older age. He shouldn't waste himself doing stuff like Rascals or Himmatwala.

Its true but srk helps him to enter in 200 crores club!

I see it as 100 something from Rohit and 100 something from SRK (Deepika also) that resulted in 200 crore.

Rohit was a brand before SRK worked with him. It is not like he was nowhere.

If you thought Ajay Devgn is a lesser superstar than Salman Khan, check this out. The actor's latest release Singham Returns has beaten Salman Khan's Kick in terms of opening day collection.

As per trade figures, Singham Returns raked in a whopping Rs. 32.09 crore on Friday. The collection is way past Salman Khan's opening day collection of Rs. 26.40 crore for Kick on July 25. But do keep in mind that Kick released on a non-holiday, but Singham Returns hit theatres on a national holiday.

With this mammoth opening day figures, Singham Returns has notched for Ajay Devgn his career's best opening. It is also the highest opening film of the year 2014.

The Rohit Shetty-directorial released in India on over 3600 screens. The response is best in Maharashtra, as expected.

The film's great opening is a big boost for Ajay Devgn whose previous films Himmatwala and Satyagraha didn't do well at theatres.

Now, the big question on everyone's mind is: will Singham Returns enter the Rs. 100 crore club in its opening weekend? There's a strong chance that it may hit that milestone or come within a whisker of it.

Singham Returns Holds Strongly On Saturday

Singham Returns held on strongly on its second day as collections look set to be around the 19 crore nett mark. There is a semi holiday in Gujarat so collections could even go to 20 crore nett. A 35% drop after a big holiday means its a very good trend.

The film is doing phenomenal business in Mumbai and CP Berar and these two circuits are best on Saturday. CP Berar was sold for a huge price of over 6 crore which looked high but seems like the film will cover easily.

The weekend is sure to go over 70 crore nett and may even touch 75 crore nett if Sunday shows a big jump. North India has also done very well with the business of the first Singham to be crossed in Delhi/UP and East Punjab in four days. South India is comparatively weaker but still numbers are good for mass film like Singham Returns
