The topic is not about replacing Khans but future superstars.

I agree era of stars is over.

Khans are last one to enjoy this as they came when media was not booming.

Today audience has too many other options and doesn't worship stars the way they did earlier.

One has to be either really good or give good film to pull audience to theatre. Majority are content watching films on TV or internet or pirated DVDs.

I somehow think Ranbir, Ranveer and others will get sandwiched in transition and not get considered as defining stars. Something that happened to Rajendra Kumar in 60s and Sunny-Anil in 80s. And to Hrithik in 2000s.

I see potential in Ranbir and Ranveer.

But to be defining star someone has to be different, have unique persona. The way Khans were different from Big B and Dharmendra and the later were different from their predecessors.

Khans have a huge fan base all over worldwide...I think their Stardom is unmatched...Many will disagree but KHANS have enjoyed way more stardom than AB,Raj Kapoor,Rajesh Khanna etc IMO... And personally i don't see anyone overtaking them from these newer lot...May be Ranbir,Ranveer,Siddhartha will come close...But if you were asking who are going to overtake them...I would say Khan beaters are not even born...

i want to say that there is no replacement for anyone as everyone is unique

there can never be replacement for the khans !

i think the next three but they can never replace khans and kapoors

There is no need to bring seniors into it and start comparisons. Seniors had their own craze.

Khans might have just lasted longer due to more ways of looking young now (we have botox, cosmetic surgery compared to only wigs in past) and all that technology that shows computerised action/unbelievable stunts. Otherwise craze is not something never seen before.

Coming to the article,I think Ranbir is more interesting,charismatic and energetic than Aamir as a star..There have been no SRK and Salman replacements till now...Ranveer reminds me of Akshay more.
Overall I agree with KareenaFanatic...Age of superstardom is over..Khans are the last ones of the lot to enjoy the same...New stars would be popular but they can never create mass hysteria of AB Sr or SRK or Salman...Ranbir arguably the best actor and most popular one among the newbies have completed 7yrs in the industry but yet to challenge the B.O record of Khans or Hrithik even,..Regardless imo the actors who have potential to survive the longest among newer lot are (this is keeping aside all my bias) -Ranbir,Ranveer,Varun and Sid.Arjun is in for the long haul but he is lagging behind in popularity scale for now..Might change in future.

PS:Just noticed that every era had atleast one super handsome superstar who pawned others in looks dept but was criticized for acting skills during initial phases of their career ..hmm nice 😛😆

There is something sooo magically about the khans its unexplainable and that makes them irreplaceable. There was a certain perfection in that era of making films that I dnt see today and u add the khans to it and they where perfect for it. Even today just like the older generation of fans u can watch any of the khan films from that time a hundred times and just not get bored. If we have to compare these new stars movies to the movies that the khan did when they started these stars cnt touch them. Salman 2nd film maine pyaar kiya and varun's film humpty sharma very good acting by varun bt still u cnt compare that performance to salman's. - srk bazzigar and sid's ek villian again good acting bt u cnt compare it to srk performance. And aamir earlier work can any of these stars compare to him? These new actors are stars from ranbir to arjun bt its hard to say whether they will ever be super stars with the way bw is bringing new actor whose films are doing well every single month. Its a open game who will rule bw and which grp will dominate. Bt to answer your question its more ab who I want to be in the top than who it might actually be. Varun, ranveer and hmmm maybe arjun if he starts looking good again
