Singham can be called the Rambo of Bollywood films. It's become a cult character. I've come across so many people who know a person like Singham in their life. For instance in Nasik, the villagers told me that they call a police official Singham and not by his real name. When I asked them the reason, they told me that the police officer had arrested a corrupt MLA so now that police officer is like a hero to them.


Singham Returns is not a South remake

Rohit Shetty took more than a year to write Singham Returns. We won't make something till we have the right script. We can't disappoint the audience. And our film is completely different as compared to the South film. Yes, we asked for their script and they readily sent it to us. But we decided not to make a similar film. We wanted to go in a different zone.


Women love Singham

Women love Singham more than men. Women all over the world have been suppressed. Today I feel women are angrier than men. In fact, there's a scene of Bebo in Singham Returns, where she also does action. Women are going to love that.


Lights, camera, action!

I feel lazy to wear cables while doing an action scene. We did a sequence in Singham Returns, wherin I did the action sequence without the cable. I had good fun doing that. Rohit designs all the action sequences keeping me in mind.


Small is Big!

One of my favourite characters that I've played on screen is in Zakhm. When Mahesh Bhatt narrated the story to me, he was in tears. I readily agreed to do the role and got a national award for it. People are making films like Zakhm but the problem is that I have not heard a script which moved me as much as Zakhm did.


On Sajid Khan

Sajid is a fool. He's a friend of mine. I'll call him up and tell this to him right now. 80 per cent of the times my films haven't worked, I've known it while shooting the film. I haven't seen Himmatwala till today. I haven't even seen Rascals. I haven't even seen Humshakals. But an actor can't leave a film in the middle because there's so much at stake. You have to realize that you have goofed up and you have to suffer. You can't walk out of a film, it's unethical. You can ask your maker to stop and make something else but every director won't listen to you. Then you just shut up and do your work. I'll give you an example of Himmatwala. The idea of that film was good. I thought we'll shoot it like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. I don't want to blame Sajid. Everyone has their own thinking. He picked up a 80s film and shot it like 80s. Himmatwala would have worked today if it was styled like today. I heard he has made fun of it in his new film but that's his humour.
