Talaash was a million times better than Doom 3. Yeah it's not a typical BW movie as the above mentioned but the way it was narrated was what kept me engrossed. I like this movie til date.

Before making the movie Talash makers should have done some Talash on logic and story. Then they wouldn't have to Talash for the audience in theaters.

Talaash is slow, dull and at best an average film. They could have addressed many things but they failed to do so. Even acting in it is no thespian stuff.
It is not commercial. Definitely not art film. And failed to be even a balance between the two.

Just because it has names like Akhtar's and Aamir Khan attached to it, people write glowing reviews or think it is about mental issues, marital issues, film industry-red light area nexus, some "dark side" of human nature etc,, etc.

Far better films have been made in past that also held audience at edge of the seat whether it was Neelkamal, Woh Kaun Thi, Madhumati etc.

It has become a trend of sorts to rationalise and intellectualise every Aamir and Akhtar film since Lagaan and DCH (why only DCH? Akhtar surname is so venerated that even flaws of Shakti are not discussed thanks to Javed saab worshipping cult).

Reema and Zoya seemed to jump from one thing to the other in Talaash. They failed to make the film connect. Failed to communicate what the film was. Kareena could be hallucination for mentally disturbed Aamir. But Nawaz is not disturbed! How did he see her before he died?

Audience was confused from marketing of this film itself. No one knew whether it was horror, murder mystery. I actually saw this film in theatre thanks to the cast. But people were not inrerested. You could see them chattering away or dozing off. Many actually laughed than feel thrilled when it was revealed that Kareena was a ghost.

There is nothing special this is why no extraordinary box office collections, critical acclaim nor special awards.

I actually hate it for promoting superstition. Rani communicating to her son through seance/automatic writing was exasperating.😡 How they endorsed that psychiatric treatment did not help her but this toona-totka did!🤢

I disagree here

It was shown that this thing provided her peace and nothing wrong with it..there are many people who believe in things like these

I disagree as well. Already people get fleeced by such spirit communicators. And live with different fears, superstitions. Movies should not be endorsing them. I can only tolerate people taking to religion and spirituality to find peace if not help from health professionals.
I do not like any film or serial that promotes babagiri.
