Holiday having a poor opening is not bad thing, the word of mouth will spread that it is a good film sooner or later and the film will have an after life. The real problem will come later when an really horrible Akki film will open much better and Akki being Akki would attribute the openings completely to the poor film and will go on to make even poor films.


At this late stage in his career another cycle of poor run of films could be really bad for him. Lucky for him he is physically still in great shape otherwise he is surely in the Sunny paji and Sanju baba path.

With 3500 screens, that's still a 13-14 cr Opening which is fair.

The early trend says it will collect around 10 cr which is below par, even Himmatwala had better opening .

Feel bad for akshay man.Even arjun kapoor gave a 100 cr movie this yr

Akki is coming after 8 months, post IPL, 1st big movie, earlier Rowdy Did wonders, also that was his last clean Hit.

Well, BOI has Jai Ho pegged at 40% opening, 3500 screens and 17 cr.

By evening shows, it should rise to atleast 30% and 14 Cr which is still bad but not not terrible considering the genre of the film.

Post IPL needs a big budget Bollywood song & dance number like a Ready or YJHD for families and students to enjoy. This film wasn't the right choice for this money making weekend but with these many screens 30% isn't the end of the world.

On topic - Damn But let's see the numbers... from where I am, there isn't much buzz as the songs haven't clicked... for 5pm show, only 1st 2 rows booked out of 19 rows. 😕 And 8:30 pm... 1st 3 rows. But if it has the Queen effect then I was sitting with 50% full crowd 2 weeks into the running of the movie. Not that the numbers on this side count much 😆 But WOM power is amazing.

I'm hoping it picks up.
