His muscles may be the envy of millions but Salman Khan works tenaciously on them, come rain, come shine, come sand! While Salman is known to cycle to the studios in Mumbai as a part of his fitness fanaticism, what he did in the dunes of Jodhpur while shooting for the Hollywood film 'Marigold' is an inspiring tale.
Hairstylist and image-maker Aalim Hakim, ardent Salman buff, shares, "Salman would run from the desert (shooting location) to the hotel. He's that hardworking a guy!" Aalim is also impressed by the star's simplicity. "He would sleep alone on the sands at night. He has a love for the rustic."
Elaborating on his child-like exuberance, Aalim reveals, "Once in Jodhpur, he came to my room at 3 am and started knocking. When I opened the door, he said, 'Let me see your tattoo!' He wanted me to show him the latest one on my stomach." In the same vein, Aalim adds, "He loves homemade food and relishes it with his hands. He invites all to have the biryani and salan (gravy) from his lunch."
Underlining what makes Sallu special, Aalim says, "He does whatever he feels like, unmindful of whether people think it's right or wrong. That's why he's a style icon. He's baksha huwa (blessed). No matter how many trials he undergoes, he cannot be destroyed."
