Mohenjodaro is part of Indus valley civilization which was erstwhile a long stretch panning North India, Afghanistan Pakistan and parts of Iran Iraq...so they are probably recreating that space in SA

to create a a big set overseas a huge waste of money i think he gonna use some bits and pieces things and try to shoot some portions

@DB maybe ... Shooting in India can be logistically nightmare seen few articles where big producers were complaining and it doesn't come cheap also taking all kinds of permissions and stuff takes a lot of time and effort ... I think they'll shoot the outdoors in SA on sets in the Wilds and shoot the indoors in in some film studios in bombay ... Lets see...

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan will start shooting for 'Mohenjo Daro' in October. Read on.

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, who has collaborated with Disney India to co-produce his next mega project "Mohenjo Daro", will roll the cameras for the Hrithik Roshan starrer in South Africa in October.

Ashutosh Gowariker will direct the film, which will introduce Miss India Universe 2010 second runner-up Pooja Hegde in Bollywood.

Its first schedule for the epic adventure and love story set during the Indus Valley Civilzation, will begin in South Africa.

After "Jodhaa Akbar", "Mohenjo Daro" will be the second film bringing together Hrithik Roshan, Gowariker, his production banner Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Pvt. Ltd (AGPPL) and Disney India.

"There has always been a natural creative synergy between UTV and AGPPL in our previous movies. This time through our collaboration with Disney, we'll have an even greater focus on entertaining families and to top that off, I'm looking forward to working again with the Disney team," said producer Sunita Gowariker.

I personally think this film will have lot of VFX and lot of it will be achieved through green screens. So I think it won't matter much whether they will use real location of Indus valley or not after all original things is just a remnant - all they need now is a blue print of architecture plan of those places which I am sure they must have researched by now.
