I am not sure if this is the way to go about it. I mean I get her point but at the same time this seems as extreme as the fair and lovely.

And I don't get the obsession with being fair. It's all about the features you have. Anne Hathway and Lupita Nyong both are stunning. They look flawless. More than skin color I feel it's more about your confidence.

YES our society is obsessed with white skin and GOD how

I have completed my PG, going for Phd in future after some experience and people (relatives and society all) Started doing research why am I not ready to settle or why 'rishtas' are not coming? And started giving me various fairness techniques since I am dark so that rishtas start coming! What the hell...what if I want to focus on career?

I came to know all this BS and I am shocked!

😭 Why didnt u meet me when i was searching for rishta in India? 😭

But, I got the most beautiful wife.. she loves me 10 time more than limit to love. 😊 U will find ur hubby too. Just watch Munnabhai 2.. as to how to chose hubby. Its true.. how a guy treats others is how u know u know him. Dont worry abt ur skin color.. be the girl with substance.. and there u go..

U just have to look at ads on tv and figure out whats going on. In India, its fair n lovely.. more or less, in western world its abt weight loss, gosh... 1000s of machines come up every year and tell u how sexy ur body can be using those excercisez. Its all the same. They r telling our women to be slim n sexy.. in India they telling them to be fair n lovely.
Be blessed if u have a dark skin.. Lord Krishna had it and he was the most hansome man in the world.

But more imp. be the women with substance.. if a genuine guy can see that beauty.. u got the right guy. baki sab bekaar. !

Sorry, i m like giving lecture.. but i been thru all these. I chose a wife with substance and shez darker than me.

HAHA may be coz I wasnt ready 😆
Ahh I am happy for you dear to get such a lovely partner. I am not worried about my Hubby he will come at right time and he will be the one for me ☺️. Jo hum chahte real mein, wahi hota hai...I believe in it!
I was never insecure of my color and so are many girls who live their lives confidently even in such narrow minded society.

Eventually color of skin like superficial factor dont hold any importance, its what you are made of inside out, that matters!

People may have preferences for what they find good looking. But I feel it's definitely stupid and unwarranted to link fairness with success, luck, wealth, happiness and key to all prosperity in life!

The Fair n Lovely and Fair n Handsome ads are atrocious how they keep trying to imply as if putting on fairness cream makes someone a superstar or gets them job, self confidence, not just life partner but also greater favour from parents and siblings! 🤢

Already stereotypes exist and such ads take it to extreme as if being fair is a do or die situation.

There is some new fairness oil for babies also. Not to forget those desi concoctions that people make pregnant women drink so that they give birth to a gora chitta baby.

Obsession for anything is not healthy.

Dark of fair ...Both are gifted and they are beautiful .
All these creams should rather address towards maintaining a healthy skin free from burns and stuff like that .,

Sadly , Many parts of the world dont realise this and judge a person on the basis on his/her skin tone .

We call ourselves to be civilised yet we are unable to overcome this age old skin-tone barrier .

You know that obsession for something has crossed all limits when there are fairness products for underarms and even private parts.

This kind of craze should be discouraged.

I applaud Nandita Das for being comfortable in her own skin. But see the kind of roles she mostly gets? Village woman, maid, low caste woman? This association of complexion to caste or class is not right.
