Ranbir is not a better actor than Hrithik.

He is type cast. He most often plays the awkward misfit trying to get the girl. Even in barfi. Same thing.

Awkward misfit trying to woo the girl but had autism .

Now Hrithik has played those role aswell.

But he has also done period films, was a king. Battle scenes.

He's played a super hero, worn prosthetics to change his identity in dhoom, a crippled, an army soldier.

Hrithik is way more versatile. He has even played the awkward nerd aswell Koi mil Gaya.

He's been in adult films, kids films.

Ranbir does not have that diversity in acting.

Hrithik could play a nerd or James bond. Polar opposites.
