Amitabh Bachchan's current residence Jalsa was bought by him from filmmaker NC Sippy in the 70s. Sippy and his sons, Romu and Raj are the guys who made movies like Chupke Chupke (1975), Golmaal (1979), Satte Pe Satta (1982), etc. The Bachchans were staying at Prateeksha earlier and made Jalsa their residence much later in life.
Rajesh Khanna bought Rajendra Kumar's bungalow on Carter Road and named it Aashirwad. His bride Dimple was taken there in 1973. After his death, it has been bequeathed to his daughters. It is now named Vardaan Aashirwad. Dimple Kapadia is said to reside here.
Dimple herself was living on a prime property on Juhu Beach, which had been leased from the Birlas decades ago. It is said Yash Birla moved court and Dimple's mother Betty, who was the only one staying in the Kapadia bungalow after the actress lost her siblings, has reportedly vacated the place. She is now said to be living in her elder daughter's flat in Juhu itself. Shah Rukh Khan bought his first house on Mumbai's Carter Road in a building called Amrit from Rajesh Khanna. Sonu Sood bought his Casablanca apartment from Urmila Matondkar. He later went on to buy two more flats in the same building.
Legendary filmmaker Raj Khosla is said to have lived in one of the rooms in Aamir Khan's home in Marina Apartments back in the 60s. Whether Aamir bought his house from Khosla directly or not is not known.
