No, that was not my point, srkat. The premise of 2 states is that two people from different states ( customs, language) falling in love and how it cause resistance from parents. But in Chennai Express, it isn't so. There is no opposition for Shah Rukh, once Deepika says she loves him. CE is more a fun filled entertainer with back drop of southern India. The story does not show difference of customs as hindrance. Besides CE ran on SRK star power and DP too.

I have to disagree!

The film will do wonders for Arjuns career. The film is based on a best seller, has excellent music and is ensured a decent release. The lead pair is hot in the trade and the promotions have been top notch.

Opening day: 8.5 cr

Opening weekend: 30 cr

Lifetime: 70 cr+

Verdict: HIT

Ya I understand what you mean. SRK didn't have parents or anyone from his side that opposed his relation with Deepika and yes that was a commercial masala entertainer. But still, the premise in 2 States will ensure a lot comedy situations that could be quite appreciated by the youth and it could be enough for the film to at least emerge a decent success.
