Doing item number or not its her choice and anyways she is not that good at dancing , the only actual dance number she has done in her career is nagada sang dhol. Deepika was introduced to imtiyaz by ranbir. As ranbir was kareenas brother who did jab we met with him. As I said its chain of events ranbir introduced her to imtiyaz and imtiyaz introduced her to homi. This was when deepika was known as wodden padukone .And there friendship was not spoilt after kwk . Sonam ranbir frienship was spoilt after kwk. So much that he stoped doing movies with sonam. Deepika sweet talked him out of the whole sinario. They were going for movies , she attended rockstar premier , she even went to kjo birthday bash with ranbir in 2011 , she came to his birthday , she even hugged katrina in lakhme fashion week in 2011 post kwk episode. 2010 deepika gave back to back 4 flops and in 2011 You could see many pics online of deepika hanging out with ranbir in 2011 -2012. So this statement is totally wrong that ranbir was not there in her bad times. 2011 deepika was also dating siddharth malliya who was not much of help as he was not industry insider and his social gatherings were elite parties , fashion shows , ipl matches . It was not much industry parties I guess thats the reason she had only one movie in 2012 cocktail. Even ranveer singh had told this once in his interview most of the casting happens in industry parties.

Relationship with siddharth malliya was diverting her from her career . Relationship/ friendship with ranbir helped her more than relationship with siddharth malliya. Coz ranbir to suggest her name to directors , take her to industry parties , she got exposure among industry crowd. Its exactly same as katrinas case.
