Ek Dujhe Keliye will just be another movie were it not for the ending, Sadma could have easily ended with the Sri character remembering the Kamal character and running from the train to him, but the fact that they did not end up together is what makes it so beautiful.
QSQT, Baazigar (oh how I wanted to them to be together against all odds) are all classics partly because of the ending. Life is not usually tied into a neat little bow and movies reflect that.

Though I would have been very mad if Raj and Simran (DDLJ), Nisha and Prem (HAHK) did not not end up together. 😳

Wishful thinking may want us to change things around, but these movies worked for the sheer fact that their ends were unconventional.

That would have been the better ending. I enjoyed the film, but seriously I'm sick of Bollywood showing women who stick by philandering husbands. Why are there no films about philandering wives whose husbands forgive them?

Aman had to die in Kal ho na ho. As much as I didn't want to, but that was the essence of the film.

Not extremely tragic, but to this day I still wish Nisha and Rahul from Dil to Pagal hai had ended up together.😆

YES! I loved them together! I felt like she really understood him and loved him unconditionally. While "Maya" was an idealization that Rahul had. He almost molded Pooja to become the woman that he envisioned for himself.

I think too hard about these things...

Y isnt raanjhana included???
I wish sawariya & ranjhana had a happy ending!! But alas if kundan would have died then the lovestory would have not been so unique & classic!! And as per sawariya always remember slb never makes happy ending films!! :((((((

Haha true. They just seemed so right, whereas Pooja seemed too perfect. Plus I loved Karishma more than Madhuri ahaha.

I loved Lootera's ending I wouldn't change a thing from that movie, Varun needed to die as much as I loved that character he would've never led a happy life. He killed his own best friend, that guilt would've killed him eventually.

RaanJhanaa's ending to me was backwaas, I saw the movie recently and couldn't help but think what were they thinking? the ending felt rushed. I didn't want Kundan and Zoya to end up together but killing him was unnecessary, and that speech he gives at the end, how he had to finally let go ugh so stupid. Is it just me or bollywood movies started glorifying death?
Loved Dhanush and Sonam tho, their chemistry was the saving grace of the movie.

None of these would be half as impactful if they had happy endings
