He was pretty good in Bewakoofiyaan

He actually got more than he deserved already if you go by Vicky Donor only. He was one of the weakest link. The film succeeded because of the fantastic writing, direction and supporting characters. But Ayushman got all the credit. Anyways in BW you need to be someone's someone to stay on. Ayushman doesnt have that and hence it will be tough for him henceforth.

Never saw him as an actor. Actually thought his prime career was doing the odd TV hosting every now and again.

Shoojit's film sounds good, and he and john make a good team. That one might click.

I dont think he is out of the race, but yes he is definitely lagging behind right now. There is too much competition and the other newcomers have comparatively bigger projects. Then again, all of them are just 2-3 movies old, tables can turn any moment.

Well, in todays situation, you can't say these are my movies till you start shooting for them. Shooting of G. Monga's movie hasn't started yet. I think, she's gonna delay that project seeing Bewakoofiya's fate. Shoojit would make that football based movie after Piku. So, Humara Bajaj is already delayed. In 2016, Shoojit would either shelve it or take a new hero. Ayushmaan is currently shooting for YRF's Dum Lagake, Haisha! So, that's the only project Ayushmaan has right now. If that movie works, he'd get a few more low budget movies; if not.. he can replace Riteish Deshmukh by playing sidekicks of 50+ heroes.

He is so overrated 🥱..VD was all about the refreshing concept and well written script..Annu was the show stealer...Ayushman gave such an ordinary performance and it was hyped up like no tomorrow..he has no charisma...I saw his Front row iv with sushant and Sid M..He was so fake..actually he was trying to hide his cockiness with his fake humility..😆

G. Monga's film shooting has started. It's tentatively named Bombay Fairytale. Ayushman's last Filmfare interview was held on the sets of that film, from what I know. Also, he spoke about that film, character, look etc in detail in his latest interview here.

His answers give the impression that the shoot has already started, as he said he had to hide his look from photographers and all that.

About Shoojit's film, you are right, he has Piku to complete first. Humara Bajaj has already been shelved.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha doesn't seem to be a very promising project to me, honestly speaking. It's a small budget movie by an in house director turned producer and no reputed names, which I guess, will be left to it's own tactics like Bewakoofiyan. YRF still hasn't learnt to take it's smaller projects seriously. I am not really expecting the film to do much for Ayushman. The above two projects sound more promising, if they take off and get completed, that is. If they don't work, then as you said, Ayushman will get relegated to the background I guess.

& he's saying he will be in Shoojit's football based movie. I think, I read, it's John who was supposed to play the hero of that football movie.
