Will constant YRF association affect Ranveer's growth as an actor?

They launched him , yes and he's their blue eyed boy now that SRK has his own production house. BBB gave him a great platform yes, but Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Gunday were not well received by critics. Where as he was praised for his acting in Lootera and RL met with critical and commercial success.

His next YRF film is with the Shaad Ali who directed Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Will it end up as another masala movie like Gunday after all the interesting promos? And then there is talk of Aditya Chopra directing a movie with him. Zoya Akhtar film is promising.

My question is should he start doing less YRF films if they are not willing to experiment ?We all know he wants to be respected as a good actor too not just a star.

well that is wat ranveer is now starting to do, all the speculation about his future lineup are all movies that are not yrf productions. Ranveer is part of yrf's acting agency, and is still early in his career so its obvious he signed a few movies from them. I mean parineeti is also doing the same as she signed ishqzaade, shud desi romance, dawat-e-ishq and she is also doing killdil, but pari also is now venturing to other production houses such as dharma.
And yrf is not a bad production house, they have come out with some great movies, and shaad ali also directed saathiya and bunti aur bubli which were commercial hits and also had great reviews.
I don't even know if aditya chopra is even making a movie or not, and those rumours have died down now.
So ranveer is starting to go to other production houses

No one said it is, but if they are only making commercial movies with similar formula, it won't help him much as an actor. Saathiya was the remake of Maniratnam classic Alaipayuthe. And all the artistic grace of the movie was lost in the remake.

Pari will have limitations being an actress, but Ranveer has made a name for himself. He should now try to experiment more imo rather than get stuck with YRF formulated films. As I said, Zoya film is interesting, but let's hope that won't be followed with couple of YRF films again.

Yes it will have a negative effect on Ranveer's growth as an actor. Hopefully Kill Dil is his last film with Yash Raj for a few years...

I don't think so! as long as he keeps mixing it up he should be fine. You need the commercial success as much if not more than critical acclaims. He can't keep doing Lootera type movies as they are not accepted that well.

I also want ranveer to venture out to other production houses, and his future lineup looks as if they are from other production houses, so hopefully he picks the right roles that stretch him as an actor, and yes zoyas movies looks very promising.
but if aditya chopra offers him his movie then I hope he takes it, working with adi chopra doesn't come along all the time.

he might end up like srk, xdid so many yashraj n dharma
bubblegum and chocolate candy movies with huge lavish

sets you hv to rack yr brains to think of a pure performance

oriented role in 30 yrs of acting.

it rewards you with the megastar status but its aamir people

talk about for acting and meaningful films.

ranveer has it in him..to rival ranbir..lootera proved it. i guess

he wants to establish himself, make the mega bucks, then

experiment. anyways, movies nowadays offers more choice

for actors...those days it was nothing but switzerland, and

songs.
