Dedh Ishquiya was a great movie, everyone praised the movie and Madhuri too. It's sad that it didnt work. Havent watched GG yet so cant comment. But to blame her solely for movie's failure is not right either, from reviews It seems like , movie lacked proper execution and lost the plot half way through. And when that occurs, no actor can save the movie.

For women-centric movies to work, they have to be made exceptionally well. no one is going to go watch middle aged women acting in the movie if the movie is not even well made. kahaani, English-vinglish worked not only caz of the actors but also caz of directors.

Madhuri was never great in choosing right scripts , and everyone tries to capture Madhuri, the diva and dancer instead of the actor. That's where she is faulting. Anyways, lets see wat she does next.

Well someone needs to start the initiative to do more of those. GG maybe a failure in terms of BO, but in terms of strong female roles and parallel cinema it is a step forward. Madhuri was a huge success before, the fact is that she is taking these risks when there is a great chance of failure and criticism. She deserves to be applauded and I for one do.

Wow, tough crowd around here. Women centric films rarely work. I haven't seen DI yet but its apparently a good film. That's all we should ask of our actors. Make good films.

So last night I went to see the movie with my mom & masi. And my instant reaction was what a strong message the movie was portraying.

Though the movie did not do so well, the message conveyed was a strong one! Even today girls/women are treated with so much inequality in certain places in India. They are deprived of such rights such as education. When a girl is born, it is looked down upon as bad omen in certain small villages. Why so much injustice to a girl?

Today I stand proud to represent the nation as a woman. I truly feel blessed to be a girl and represent woman power.

Kudos to Madhuri and Juhi for a job well done. Their acting was amazing and to see two talented divas sharing the same screen was a treat to the eyes. I thought both actresses acted tremendously well. Juhi had the edge, though, because I've never seen her in such a negative avatar and she nailed it! But Madhuri had some power packed scenes too.

My mom said the message was a good one, but it's not like India will change. Wherever there is injustice done to girls/women it will still remain. The movie won't make an impact. Which is true to an extent.

This wasn't Madhuri or Juhi's BEST movie. Nor was it the best film of the year. But it was a lot better than most of the reviews have rated it. Out of 10 stars I would at least give it a 7/10. Its a movie that has been made with a small budget. And for that it was decent enough.

Look at Sridevi, 15 year hiatus. Came back and delivered a strong acting performance in a highly critically acclaimed movie. Look at Kajol, who has been coming and going after being married, and has been appreciated in every single movie.

Madhuri has nothing to offer. Nobody cares about her "thumka" and nobody is interested in anything else.

At least Juhi has delivered strong performances as an older actress, and not to mention as per reviews she ate up Madhuri in GG and acted circles around her.

Are we living in the same world? Madz a non actor GOSH? 😲

She has been and is the FINEST in her craft and very well past the stage of flops, hits n crores club.
