No, it is not ok that Zoya offered it to Tabu. It is a behavior I expect from an unpad, gawaar old timer director from the hinterland. Not someone like Zoya who comes from a family with people like Javed and Farhan who can actually write strong female driven roles. Zoya's own mother is an award winning screen writer and she is the step daughter of Shabana who is one of the few actresses one names when it comes to strong female roles in BW. To top it off Zoya went to film school in NY.

With her family background and credentials, I expected Zoya to be the person changing the status quo, not the one perpetuating it. When we talk about married actresses or actresses having a shelf life while actors who are older do not, how can the industry change ? Decisions like these do matter for it is a window what the industry thinks. That is why this is disappointing to me.

Tabu had made the choice that she doesn't want to it, then that's fine, zoya will just offer it to someone else.

And who knows what roles have been offered to these actors and actresses, maybe the khans have even been offered roles where they play parents.

Accepting and rejecting roles are daily thing for these cators and actresses.
