😆 Like some ppl said here.. all time best BW singer and no mention of Kishor da or Rafi saab?

Mukesh ji was unmatachable in sad songs.. He was heavily influenced by K.saigal's singing/voice. But he was not versatile. Just for youngsters here, Mukesh is grandfather of Neil Nitin Mukesh,

"jaane kaha gaye vo din" what a range of sur.

"kahi dur jab din dhal jaye.." again the range.. from deep baritone to higher pitch.

Mukesh ji sang almost all songs of Raj Kapoor. When he dies, Raj kapoor said.. I have lost my voice!

Rafi saab.. "suro ke baadshah" his high notes r amazing. He makes toghest songs sound easy n melodious. "dil ke zarokho me tum ko chhupar, yaado kio meri dulhan banakar" The range is from 0 to 100. If Rahat fateh ali has to sing that one.. he wud be sweating.. his high notes sound screaming.. "kehno ke sath apne ek duniya chalti hai.." too much effort! Rafi saab had gr8 run esp. with shammi kapoor songs 😆on BW playback singing untill Kishor da entered.

Kishorda came to mumbai to become a hero 😆 flollowing his brother Ashok kumar's footsteps. He ended up being comedian and gr8 one too.. bery bery natural 😆 He tried singing just for sake of trying.. and he became a legend. 😆 I m laughing coz thats how I rem. Kishor da.. laugh riot. "Padoshan" any1? thats how he was in real life too. I have a friend who had gr8 collections of Kishor da's interviews.. 😆 and some practice seassions b4 the song recording.

Kishor da never had classical or any singing training.. he was just simply gifted. He was impressed by western singing esp.. hoodlie oohoo.. he introced that in his singing.. it became rage. 😆 Rem "mai hu jam jam jhumroo.." Many singers tried it.. even today the so-called "voice of Kishor kumar" singers try it.. and fails.

Kishor da preety much ended Rafi saab's career when he got serious abt his singing.. and then rise of Rajesh Khanna and then Amitabh.. Rafi's career ended with being a distant 2nd to Kishor kumar. Rafi didnt have that versality that Kishor had... esp. Kharaj (roughly put... deep baritone manly voice... like bigB has naturally). He wud sing softly for Rajesh khanna "mere sapno ki rani" and deep for Amitabh.. "inteha ho gayi intezaar ki.. ouch".. Voice modulation. he continued till late 80s.. His one of the hit albums was Mr. India.. and he departed. but left the legacy and msg ..

"zindgi ki yahi reet hai

haar ke baad hi jeet hai

thode aansoo hai thodi hasee

aaj ghum hai to kal hai khusi "

Yup, my vote goes for Kishorda. And thanx for reading the whole post (if u did, indeed 😆)

i love Rahat fateh Ali Khans voice, very melodious and soulful. But i picked Udit as the best Playback singer.
