Bhansali to approach Deepika and Hrithik for Bajirao Mastani

After hobnobbing a lot, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to approach Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan to star in his ambitious project Bajirao Mastani. This will be the first instance in which the two celebrities will be paired together.

Bajirao Mastani is based on the love story of the Maratha general Peshwa Bajirao and his Muslim-origin wife Mastani who faced the rage of the society due to their inter-religion love and marriage.

Since long Bhansali has been trying to make Bajirao Mastani. Soon after the success of his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, the filmmaker wanted to pair Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan for the film but later when Salman and Aishwarya drifted apart the project shelved.

In his anxiety Bhansali waited long to get the exes together again but things did not turn out positive and the duo never patched up.

So much was the Black director fond of Salman that at one point of time he even decided to make the film with him and Kareena Kapoor's cousin Shivani Kapoor but that too did not work out.

Lately there was a talk that Shah Rukh Khan was to play Bajirao for Bhansali but that was all; nothing was heard beyond that.
