Cocktail got Deepika recognized as an actor and Ranbir was praised unanimously for his acting in prowess in Rockstar. Seems like Alia is getting good feedback for Highway as well. And no need to say anything about Kareena and JWM. So actors have definitely gained from working in his films.

Love Aaj Kaal seems to be the only movie where most rate it 6/10. With Rockstar and Highway, either people hated it or loved it. Seems to evoke two extremes. And majority like Socha na tha and JWM.

i think imtiaz's best film till date was socha na tha, m sure lot of ppl says that its JWM may be becos SNT wasnt a commercial success..

When I reflect upon what I like about Imtiaz Ali's films I find myself being drawn to the characters and not necessarily the story (well, I know the characters make the story but I feel the characters stand out more than what the whole movie speaks for itself about). For example, I didn't find the story of Rockstar majorly appealing but I loved the way Ranbir portrayed his character. Jab We Met was a sweet, romantic type film which is why I was drawn to both Geet and the story and the songs. But even recently in Highway - there were some parts of the story that I may not have liked BUT the characters of Mahabir (Randeep) and Veera (Aliaa) was just so perfect. I didn't really enjoy any part of LAK - maybe the songs. So I feel he has really good capability of creating strong, complex characters that bring out the best in whomever he casts so I look forward to his work 😊

How can it be answered without watching anything?


No promo, no poster, no leaked pics its not possible to make an idea of the film without knowing anything about it.


I don't know what the plot is. I just hope he makes something good. If he aims to make another JWM then he'll fall flat on his face just like SLB did trying out another HDDCS with RL.

I am not saying that everyone liked jab we met. But majority liked it. That movie was a commercial success as well as got good reviews from critics. It was enjoyable. Bebo shahid were fantastic.

I liked JWM and would rate it as 7/10 movie. But most seem to think its a masterpiece. I am not really into filmy love stories. My type would be more realistic approach like, say, Lost in Translation. I think Imtiaz has moved on post LAK as well.

Rockstar was his worst movie followed by LAK. Lol at least according to me

imtiaz will always be remembered ONLY for jwm, just like bebola ONLY for geet.
