I am Extremely fond of Ranbir and Ranveer says...

Arjun Kapoor is surely going places. Barely three films old and he is already a craze in B-Town. More so, after his last release Gunday, which created waves at the Box Office. Kapoor is now busy with his next release '2 States', which is an adaptation of writer Chetan Bhagat's book of the same name. Basking in the good feedback received for the trailer, Arjun talks of his experience working with Alia Bhatt. Arjun is currently working on Tevar, a movie close to his heart, as it is by his father Boney Kapoor.

Congratulations on the success of Gunday. How are you celebrating?

Honestly the feeling is yet to sink in because prior to the release we were all very much involved in the promotions of the film. After that, I started shooting for my father's home production Tevar. Now, the promotional activities of Two States have started! There is hardly any time for celebration. As an actor it's a great feeling. The amount of hard work we put in Gunday - all of us are happy that people are appreciating it.

Talking about 2 States, the first look of the film has been appreciated by your fans. What are your comments?

I am not following the virtual world. But hearing you say so, does make me relieved and happy. In my first three films (Ishaqzaade, Aurangzeb, Gunday) I had a similar look - because most of my characters were rustic in a way. In Aurangzeb I had a clean shaven with short hair look but that did not get noticed. In 2 States I am not playing the quintessential Hindi film hero, I am wearing glasses with short hair. If my fans are going to like this, I will continue doing this kind of film!

Alia created waves with her performance in Imtiaz Ali's Highway. How do you find her as your co-star?

Highway released last week but I have been shooting with Alia for quite some time. I have been always saying this that Alia is a gifted actress. Full of energy, she has a long way to go. I had a great time bonding with her on and off screen.

2 States is getting a lot of attention. What is your take on unique promotional activities such as the engagement card of Krish and Ananya?

During Ishaqzaade, I was passing through a very sad phase because I had just lost my mother. Then released Aurangzeb which was a song-less film with hardly any promotional activities. During Gunday promotions, I had lots of fun with Ranveer & Priyanka. ,When you work hard, you should promote well to convey your message to your fans and well wishers. Yes constantly promoting your film can be very tiring but I enjoyed doing that. I was also very surprised when this engagement card concept hit the web world.

How is Tevar shaping up?

So far so good I would say. I just completed an action segment in the film. We have been shooting in Mathura. I am playing a Kabadi player in the film. At the same time I am a normal boy. Balancing the two attitudes became very important for me in the film. I am meeting few Kabadi players and watching their body language and attire. It's not only your physical look but also the attitude.

Finally you are working with your dad - how will you sum up your experience on the set with him?

Great! Because as a producer I have seen him working for the last 20 years but he has never seen me as an actor in his home production. When he saw me coming to the sets, carrying my own food and giving my shot, it was a special feeling for him. On the last day of the first schedule, he congratulated me for a good shot. For a moment I was speechless. I didn't know how to react in front of him.

As a teen, did you hero-worship your dad?

I have always looked upto him on how he conducted himself in the industry. Yes, in many ways my dad is my hero but I won't attach the word hero worship. I have very high regards and love for him. The legacy which he carried for so many years, would be carried by me now.

Do you keep a tab on co-workers such as Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Ayushman Khurana to name a few?

If you look at the actors' first work in the industry, they were all good. And the films were successful also. I am extremely fond of both Ranbir and Ranveer. Varun and Siddharth have done very for themselves. If they can work together, we all can. There will be films for all of us. Therefore, no room for concern.

How does Arjun Kapoor unwind himself?

Getting good sleep is a luxury in our job. So whenever I get some time off, I try to sleep. Watching a movie in my bedroom is again a stress buster. I also love to work out, I never get tired with my workouts.

What are the pros and cons of being an actor?

The amount of love and warmth we get an as an actor is a big thing. And the price which we pay against that is very small. As an actor, you are traveling and exploring new places. You get to play a character which you are not in real life, that's a big thing to achieve. I love these facets of my job. However, I do wish that I get more time for myself sometimes.
