Yup Hritik and Kangna were awesome...The point is that in different movies different points appeal to different people according to their tastes and sensibilities...acting and looks are all subjective...so I really don't care if people are getting annoyed if someone is criticizing Aalia 😆 ...just as those who are praising her to the skies don't care about the others getting annoyed.. 😆

While I haven't seen Highway yet, she has gotten a lot of praise for her role. Typically I don't pay attention to hype. However, she has received acclaim for some hard to please critics. Even some members whose opinions I value have praised her. Also to add the Bhatt family are not Bollywood darlings for people to bend backwards to do them a favor. I'll be inclined to think Alia actually is all that. Maybe she is maturing. Maybe Randeep Hooda and Imtiaz Ali influenced her positively. Maybe she took additional classes. She is indeed a kid, but if she's doing well I think we should be more supportive rather than try to bring her down. We can always do with good actors.

Exactly. I remember being so irritated whenever I saw Alia on tv/print during SOTY. Something about her irritated me to the core. But her character and acting made me completely fall in love with her. But I can't guarantee that she will act like this in her future films as well. Who knows, with 2 States she might just go back to SOTY days. But atleast now, when she has acted properly, why bring out her personal traits like she is snobbish, she is immature, she is blah ..when we are talking about her acting on screen.

First people had a problem with her being a star kid and getting easy entry to Bollywood. I confess, I too had a problem. I hate nepotism as well.
But now that she has given a terrific performance, I think she clearly deserves a lot more support and appreciation for her improvement in acting skills. Talking about her being snobbish and ill mannered shouldn't even bother us when you open a post criticizing Alia, the 'actor'.

Weird how till now, not even a single post criticizing her acting has mentioned how bad she was in Highway and where. Everyone's either discussing how arrogant she is or sarcastically mentioning Javed Akhtar's tweet with a ROFL emoticon.

exactly. Some fanatics need to understand that Alia will not appeal to everyone. With fame comes criticism, so people need to relax. Just because some IF members love Alia, it doesn't mean she's immune to criticism.

I love this girl, she deserves a chance. I have always liked Pooja Bhatt and she reminds me of her. lol

Just watched the Highway trailer, she looks great. Will catch the movie.

Can this forum be unbiased for once? Agree she was average in SOTY. I watched Highway yesterday and boy she impressed me! She was so good! Except for a couple of scenes she was fab. Lets not forget its only her second movie after SOTY shit and she's already come a long way. Lord - Whats with the biased hate?

I think you need to go back and read my posts properly before passing comments. I have mentioned Highway.

After reading the reviews of Highway I expected something great from Alia. If newcomers like Parineeti can blow everyone away with their performances, then why not Alia? But the fact is, she sucked. She was so inconsistent. I loved the story and Randeep.. but Imtiaz made a mistake by signing her.

Pooja Bhatt is an amazing actress...I think Alia would do just fine if she has even 25% of the talent that her sister has...
