Why is everyone trying to make Alia happen? - Page 5

Javed Akhtar (the self-righteous) has tweeted & compared Alia's performance to the legend Nargis in MOTHER INDIA, to Nutan and to Meena Kumari 😲

this is something STRANGE. She acted well at most places in Highway, exceptional at some & just about ok at some (especially in first 40 minutes of the film), and obviously was much much better then SOTY that was supposed to be just her candy-floss introduction in the industry. But such an unfair praise from some sections is INDIGESTIBLE, to say the least.


on a side-note, Alia's elder sister POOJA BHATT has always been brutally ignored all through her career despite giving PAR EXCELLENCE, most natural and profound beautiful performances in movies like DADDY, PHIR TERI KAHANI YAAD AAYI, NARAAZ, SATWAN ASMAAN, SIR, Everybody say I am fine, TAMANNA and ZAKHM.... what an irony... POOJA has been NEVER recognized & appreciated for her natural, sensitive & brilliant performances, and its a SHAME. 👎🏼

(ps: I just watched Highway yesterday with an open-mind)

@red- IF! 'IF' such a performance was given by them...but they didn't give the performance, Alia did. And hence she is being praised. End of story.

I've seen Highway and it was the most pathetic performance I have seen EVER. Clearly she is only getting hyped up because of the KJO-Bhatt backup factor. Also she has such a nasty attitude, she was so arrogant on CNWK, purposely not laughing and smiling, she really is an annoying brat.

Not to mention, that she looks like a freaking KID...I can never see her working with even the young ators like Ranveer or Ranbir. There is nothing womanly about her, she looks like a lost 12 year old. Anyone who finds her hot has to be 13 or a pedo

Wanted to ask, which scenes did you find Alia to be horrible? I know you might answer 'the whole film' but want to know about any particular scene.

Clearly, most ppl on this thread have NOT watched the movie.

I remember when Kjo used to ask who is the future Ranbir or Imran everyone picked Ranbir.

IMHO I thought she did a splendid job, for Highway being her second movie, it was exaggerated when compared her with legendary actresses but, I liked her performance..

...and if that was not enough, clearly, their priority is offscreen persona rather than onscreen performance of an actor...even when they are talking about an actor's acting credentials 🥱

Why shouldn't they? If people have no problem with Parineeti and the critics praising her to the sky..why have a problem with Alia? Because she's giving tough competition to Pari?
