A movie like Lootera becomes a flop and a movie like Jai Ho earns 100 crores..Audiences now prefer to watch the sleazy dance numbers like Munni Badnaam over Didi tera Devar Deewana..Enjoy abuses more than romantic dialogues(which most of the people find boring today unfortunately)..So unless this crappy mindset changes..a movie like DDLJ or K3G or HAHK will flop miserably in today's date..

Totally disagree

This generation is much more acceptable to such films and such variety! You might say that people are accepting Rowdy Rathore or Dabaang but at same time films like Barfi, VD, EV, Kahaani are also being loved!

This is indeed the best time for Indian Cinema

If any director offers another K3G , I am sure it will be a huge BB

I don't route for films that over the top melodramatic ones... 90s was full of that! I love KKKG and can watch it for umpteen number of times but no I don't agree with fact that 90s was best period! I feel it easily was one of most mediocre period ever..

Well this your opinion..and I would respect that..😊..But I still stand by every word I said..
Movies like Barfi and Vicky donor and English Vinglish have definitely being accepted but they can never be a Dabangg or a Rowdy in terms of business despite being much better movies..What is more pathetic is that movies like Lootera and Udaan flop while these masala movies make crores..These can never become widely accepted movies until the mindset changes.. 😊

I think one of the problems is that the industry and most of the youngsters in India are trying too hard to be westernized. They feel that they are beneath the rest of the world and that's why do certain things (kissing, sex scenes, bikini) to overcompensate. They think that by doing these things they are equal to the rest of the world. What they don't realized is by doing the exact opposite, they will be above everyone else, because that's what made Bollywood what it is.

Glad melodrama era is over. P.s K3g is one of the few movies I like in that genre, but mostly due to Srk-Kajol and HR-Kareena. Jaya-Srk relationship was good too, but too much melodrama with AB's stubbornness.

The 90s def had the best Bollywood movies. The music was also better. That said there some movies that are made today that I love a lot like English Vinglish.
