Dunno why critics have panned this movie. Majority post positive reviews here and on FB. BW really need a site like Rotten Tomatoes to know the general opinion amongst critics. Here we have couple of 'top critics' whose word is taken as gospel. Anupama Chopra gives films like Krrish 3 three and half stars and bashes films like Highway giving illogical arguments.

Same here...what was the logic behind panning the film like this?😕

So okay, it wasn't flawless...but it was certainly not half as bad as our critics make it sound! Plus, the film has got good international reviews!

Its doing pretty well at the BO too...its got a very strong WOM and has picked up quite well this week!

Highway First Week On Lower Side

Highway grossed around 21.75 crore nett in its first week as it held steady on the weekdays and then got a boost for Maha Shivratri on Thursday. It is the opening that has let the film down as start was low and the growth on Saturday and Sunday was lower than it needed to be.

The collections of Highway are less than Hasee Toh Phasee which collected 27 crore nett in week one and Yaariyan which collected 24 crore nett in week one. Both these films were also targeting the multiplex youth and had lower costs.

Highway is looking at a 30 crore nett finish on a best case scenario as there is a flow of releases for the multiplex audience starting this week with Shaadi Ke Side Effects .

something i didnt get...

mahabir is gonna sell veera to a kothi..then they stop

on the road somewhere, and she starts grooving to a western dance

tune...bas, thats enough for mahabir to decide instead to send her

back home in next scene.

the film wasnt long enough to show the development of a relationship

between the two given their polar opposite personalities and no

common ground...

and alia came off as a bit cracked, talking to herself...in wide

eyed wonder like she 's a nine year old

when they showed her angst at having endured years of sexual

abuse at the end...her personality as shown also collapsed for me,

no girl who endures that kind of torment can be that innocent,

breezy about life. they grow up fast, and become mistrustful of

everyone around them. and the pain would show in their eyes

alias personality was that of a rich spoilt coddled kid champing

at the bit, wanting to experience life.

very very shoddy characterisation. honestly.

The film, starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, was made on a budget of Rs 18.25 crore. Ali says the film earned Rs 15.50 crore before its release and made Rs 22.38 crore from 800 screens in its first week of release. The director, who turned producer for Highway' with his Window Seat Films, says the project was his attempt to have more creative freedom.

Happy that the film has made profit already. It'll only encourage filmmakers to make offbeat films closer to their heart once in a while without worrying about box office too much.

very nice movie

totally loved it

randeep was superb

alia was also really good

and songs are like too awesome

it was so nice to watch realistic surroundings,costume

and there were so many aww and wow moments in the movie

highly recommend this

just watched the movie and wow, alia bhatt was amazing. all the people making sarcastic threads about her need to first watch the film and then lets see what they say. i found myself with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat through parts of the movie mainly because alia portrayed the character so well. dont think there is any other actress who could have done this role.

Exactly!

When I first saw Hooda & Alia I had major doubts.. But it works beautifully for this movie. Only an Alia was suitable for this role.

You see the movie, and you realise Why.
