when you are nearing 50 I see reasons for you to look younger. that is slightly different than changing the way you look completely when you are young and look just fine!

women are definitely lead to surgeries...if a pretty girl like Anushka does it you know it's not just insecurities that happened on its own...there was a time when I lived in the desilands I used to think I was not pretty...I put on make up to hide those "flaws"...and then I moved to non desi land and realized people find me pretty! that really helped! I haven't put on make up since! now when I go back to desiland and people say stuff I don't give a shit :-) I think you just need someone to say that you are pretty just the way you are! we are humans. it helps! Anushka I guess did not have anyone to tell her that...she had stupid Adi Cho saying she isn't pretty! What a loser! Andter then have surgery queen Katrina standing next to you looking perfect on camera! She did this while shooting for JTHJ I think! Oh ya apparently there was Pinkvilla comments too! Where were her fans???😕

Of course YES. If they are not perfect(which in my opinion no one is, even beauty has different standards for different people, beauty too is an idea) then people bash them, left, right and center. Then their acting abilities go down to drain, what is remained is their looks and discussions and essays how ugly one is.
Then, again when they do have surgeries...we label them as "Plastic".

Well .. we need to teach our little girls to grow up into strong women. We need to teach them early on that the world is not made up of only good people. There are bad and mean people as well, who can pull the girls down for no good reason. Girls should not just give in to such people's opinions. They should have their own mind and need not pick on other people's brains. Confidence is very important.
We also need to let our girls know that there will always be prettier/smarter/cuter girls than them. Just to better them, our girls don't need to resort to anything and everything. It isn't just about winning at any or every cost. It's about knowing yourself, your strengths and your shortcomings (you are only human, there will be shortcomings), embracing them and working hard towards your goal and being comfortable in your own skin.

Society puts the pressure for anything and everything. You need to have a thick skin and clarity of your own self and path/destination to survive this big bad world (well .. not necessarily bad, it's good too - just depends on how strong or stupid you are)

No, not really. I mean YES, society does play a role in it but in the end it's an individuals perception and choice. I think it's because social media has taken over and so many of these bollywood stars are now on twitter, which is cool but it also means they're much more open and vulnerable to negativity. I think that celebrities need to seriously remember that for every 3 haters, they have 10 fans(ratio example 😆) If people didn't love their looks, acting, persona..we wouldn't have made them famous and supported them no? They need to keep in mind and remember their fans more than their haters, which they clearly don't do and it ends up making them insecure n resorts to plastic surgeries. At the end of the day..no one forced or pressured them to get into this business or get plastic surgery, they're all GROWN people with their own brains and they have the right to do whatever they want with their own money..it's their lives, live and let live.

Exactly .. you can not make everyone happy. Even superstars like SRK/Salman/Madhuri/Kajol etc. have their set of haters.

well, society does tell that's there's some sort of an "ideal"
and ideally, all women should look like this or that or w.e
maybe in the limelight the pressures are greater, influencing certain ladies to go under the knife
but i feel that ultimately if a person isn't happy with themselves, nothing can help them

if anushka, for example, was always insecure about her lips or w.e. maybe if she wasn't under the limelight, she wouldn't do it. at the same time if she wan't under the limelight and didn't have a job that paid her well enough to have access to surgery, maybe she wouldn't have done w.e temporary lip enhancement she admit to doing.

so it's partly society's fault and partly the person's. Because there still are women under the spotlight who don't opt to go under the knife even though they can. It just depends on individual differences.

i dont think its society its media which is creating a hullabulla about everything,i was seeing a r rajkumar promotional event and there were people discussing about shahids eye movement, fake smile, holding of mike, body language during the event, how disgusting can it get, media is always disecting everything which puts pressure on these actresses to look good n perfect all the time

I don't think it's the audience really...if the film is good everyone will watch it. Wish they enhanced their acting skills, dialogue delivery, command on the craft, interact with audiences.
