i dont know if theyre always speaking english. i think its usually a mix of both. i agree they should speak hindi more but there is also a huge audience of bollywood movies and award shows that does speak hindi. alot of people in the south do not speak hindi and even in the middle east, europe and even in other places in the world but mostly everyone speaks english as their first or second language so i guess its able to communicate with more people.

not true. They speak Hindi , but as their second/third language.Statistics show that 98% of indians speak Hindi as either their first/second/third.😉
Thumbs up for you topic maker. Now this is one fact that I hate about our INDIAN award shows. Why the eff do these actors always have to speak English? Does it make them feel better or is it a way of showing other citizens their "eliteness"? So many people are ashamed of speaking their own mother tongue nowadays.
Everyone here is always hating on Katrina for not speaking Hindi, but these "pure" Indians prefer to speak English too during interviews.. which in my opinion is worse than not speaking it because you've lived abroad your whole life (or actually are half British). There are hella lot of Punjabis in Bollywood but only a number of them know how to converse in Punjabi. Its so sad how I still see people in India teaching their children English first, instead of Hindi/Punjabi/Gujrati etc.
I mean I don't have any issues with watching these award/chat shows because of obvious reasons. But lets just take my grandparents for example, there is barely any Bollywood show that I can watch together with them... because they don't understand a word of English.

I just want to say that I called this . When the whole “time pass” drama started I knew they would give a joint interview to clear things up. So...
