"Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos that stars Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Govinda will release on 29 May, 2015, the first Friday after the end of the IPL season next year," a statement from distributors UTV Motion Pictures said.
It is said that the film has Ranbir would be playing a detective along the lines of 'Sherlock Holmes-meets-James Bond-meets-Mission Impossible' in typical Bollywood entertainer style with right dose of action, comedy and music.
Initially when the making of the film was announced, it was felt as to how come despite having a banner like RK Films, Ranbir is co-producing Jagga Jasoos with Anurag Basu under the banner of Picture Shuru Productions.
Earlier the actor had said that they were planning lot of things before the release of the film like a TV show calledJagga Junior, comic books, animation and cartoons.
He was of the contention that he and Anurag (both partners) are trying to build a brand around the protagonist so that by the time the film releases everyone would be familiar with what Jagga Jasoos is all about.
Interestingly, Govinda plays Ranbir's father in this two heroine project. The name of the second heroine has been kept under wraps.
