It is that time of the year again. Its time for the Bollywood bigwigs to fight head to head in the online war to find out who the most popular Bollywood star is.

After the amazing response for the StarWars Most Popular Desi Celebrity last year, the 2006 Most Popular Bollywood Star starts this week. Last year Aishwarya Raiwon the most popular contest beating Shahrukh Khanin the finals. "I was sooooo touched …. that I wanted to sincerely thank you personally. As long as I have the love and support from you - the fans I consider myself blessed. You have stood by me from the beginning and for this I will forever be grateful to you all. Be well and God Bless !" was Aishwarya's response on winning the online contest. The contest comprises of head to head contests between the stars where every week they meet in a knockout popularity poll to advance to the next stage.

This year too (2006) there will be 8 Bollywood actors and 8 Bollywood actresses who will fight it out in the pre-quarter final, quarter final, semi final and the grand final of the competition. So starting this week, fans from all over the world get a chance to nominate their favorite Bollywood actor and actress to the competition. The top 8 of each group will move to the knockout stage where they will be seeded based on the number of votes they get and playing against in reverse seed basis, which means seed1 will play seed8 and so on. In the next rounds, the actors and actresses will be move into a single group where they will fight it out to win the Most Popular Bollywood Star 2006 contest.

So starting this week, the nominations start where all strong contenders to the title have been given a chance to qualify. Among the Bollywood actors nominations involve Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, John Abraham, Sanjay Dutt , Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Deol, Ritesh Deshmukh, Rajpal Yadav, Akshay Kumar,Emran Hashmi, Fardeen Khan and other Bollywood actors. Nominated among the actresses are Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra , Preity Zinta,Mallika Sherawat,Bipasha Basu, Kajol, Amisha Patel, Kareena Kapoorand other Bollywood actresses.

~I am going to support Hrithik, because not only is he my fav. actor buh is also doing awesome films this year...so far he has done the year's biggest grosser Krrish and in now starring in Dhoom 2 which is also another most awaited 2006 film, and for girl I would choose Priyanka, since shez doing a lot of films this year and in all her films she co-starring with ppl she never worked with

I support Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra because Hrithik is doing many different roles this year like in Krrish he portrayed 3-4 roles like being his dad which he done so good that you didn't really think it was him or anything but atcually thought ity was Rohit from Koi Mil Gaye, his acting was great and he puts a loty of effort and then in Dhoom he will be playing a negative role which is the first time he is trying this and you can see that his acting will be really good. In Krrish he portrays his emotions really well and has been the best this year so far. I chose Priyaka Chopra because she is working with many different people this year and her acting has been great in the character she shows and she has put a lot of effort in the character whether it is in Krrish or Aap Ki Khatir, her costumes are great and her acting has been good

Yes, maybe as male and female have to do very different acting you can not really decide between both coz you can't so they should be different.

i would support aish cause she has some really great movies coming out like jodha akbar, guru, umrao jaan and dhoom 2. she's a great actress and she does many different roles and works with different people.
