Ugh, I don't get this fixation with fair skin. At the end of the day, its just freaking skin.

Personally, I think as long as you have a fairly even skin tone and relatively clear skin, you're good to go.

And I totally agree with a previous commenter saying that celebrities have certain roles as public figures and the fact that they endorse such rubbishness is just sad. Especially for darker actresses like Deepika and Priyanka. They should instead be counteracting these ads by showing that its possible to be confident and successful even when not fair, retroactively turning the ads on themselves.

Much respect for those who turned down ads like these. And disgust at those that accepted them for some quick money.

I guess they just do it for the money. It is honestly their choice what products they endorse. But they should ideally be aware of how much they influence people.

Specially naturally dusky people like Deepika and Priyanka should be proud of their natural complexion. 🤔

And I am yet to understand why SRK out of all people endorses a fairness cream. 😆 It doesn't even look convincing.

Celebrities make so much money! And there are other products they can endorse as well too. They have the power to influence the youth and they do this? SRK especially is such a filthy rich guy. He invests in all his superhit movies as well. It's really disgusting. If this was their only source of income, maybe I'd understand a little but it's clearly not.

If you're new to the industry and are trying to get work, you will accept anything that will get you noticed - plus the money you get from it will be very important. So I can understand if a newbie endorses fairness creams.

But even after you've made a name for yourself, after you're doing movies, after becoming a role model, if you still endorse these creams, it will send a very wrong signal to your fans.

For example, I can totally understand Yami Gautam endorsing these creams when she was new. But despite achieving success, she continues to endorse it, which is a bit saddening.
