N BTW how did Rajkumar Yadav become RajKumar Rao?? 😲 How did he go from UP/Bihari surname to South Indian surname?

Because of superstition like many other actors have done in the past. This name change might bring him more success

I liked KPC, SDR and Lootera from the hits list- haven't seen RL, Lunchbox and Shahid. However I have to admit I didn't expect SDR to be in the list- not bcos I think it was a bad film or overrated- but just bcos I expected Ranjhana and BMB to be in the list cos of the unanimous praise they got this year, they have been in all the 'best of 2013' lists too. Seems that Masand, like Mihir Fadnavis, genuinely liked SDR a lot.

I think Ranjhana was a really good movie- I would rate it higher than Lootera.

I agree with Rajeev's hit list as well as his pit list. I would only take Shuddh Desi Romance out of the hit list as that movie was vastly overrated in my opinion. I did not enjoy that movie at all.

Glad to see KPC and SDR make it to top 5 ...

I am not that surprised to see SDR mentioned , because Masand, like a lot of other critics really liked the film...

But I am surprised to see it in top 5 .. I would have expected special 26 or raanjhana to be in top 5.. and SDR to have got a shout out...

I think, his top 5 list is more of actors than movies. He was going gaga over Parineeti after watching SDR hence SDR is in top 5; DP is most likely to get awards this year.. he can't say I liked YJHD/CE, so he placed one of her movies in top 5.
