I agree he is the most overrated director in BW, but it doesn't change the fact that his films work...and he's still quite liked. Practically all the newcomers mention him in their wish list of directors. His films are considered performance oriented and work at the BO...landmark films in the actor's careers--Kareena, Shahid, Saif, and Ranbir.

I am not too fond of Alia...but I was impressed by what I saw of her in the trailer. This shows what a world of difference a good director can make. Thats why I keep saying dont dismiss the SOTY kids when it comes to acting. They got a horrible director for their debut, a director whose greatness is a result of the star he associated with rather than his own abilities.

I loved Aalia in the promo. She looks vibrant and sparkling. She has a strong screen presence and her acting chops seem commendable. But to say that she will replace DP or Kat is stretching things a bit much. Aaliya is a perfect fit for this role. No other heroine would look convincing as a gawky, bubbly teenager. But there in lies the rub. She will suit these roles as a school student or a vulnerable teen. But she will never look the part in roles which demand sensuality, maturity, complexity. Imagine Aaliya in RamLeela or EK Tha Tiger.. Yeah.. I thought so.

Give her a few more year. By that time DP-Kat-Bebo will be out of BW anyway.

Bri, yep SNT is his best! But I didn't include it because it wasn't really a landmark film in Abhay or Ayesha's career...

About Alia, she seems to have done a good job in Highway. Yes she has age on her side, but like SingularlyGood said, her face is too young...doesn't look a day older than 12. She will look out of place for many films.
