Paying a tribute to his fans, Shah Rukh Khan accepts to act in Fan'

The 48-year-old charming actor has millions of fans not only in India but across the globe. But the superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to play one of the characters in his upcoming movie Fan' which is to be directed by the Band Baaja Baraat' man Maneesh Sharma.

Shah Rukh Khan while confirming his role in the movie says it is a tribute to his admirers and fans across the world.

In his recent tweet, Khan stated, "Most of the characters I do are the ones I create... for the first time I am going to play what has created me...I will be in my next a 'FAN'."

The Chennai Express' star further added, "'FAN' is a 'family film'. It's the family all of you have become for me... the one I didn't have. I want to be as beautiful as you all. Thanx (sic)."

It seems that Shah Rukh is all geared up to entertain his fans in yet another new avatar.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, the Maneesh Sharma direction has been written by Habib Faisal and will start shooting from May, next year.

Shah Rukh and YRF have worked on many successful Blockbusters in the past and their most recent collaboration was on Yash Chopra's last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.

I'm so nervous for who the leading lady will be. It can really make this movie if it's someone like Ash. (please just no Katrina or Anushka or Deepika)

Yes its the heroine of the film who can kill or make this film right now.

Katrina and Anushka, and most of all Deepika will be torturous. ..and Parineeti needs to break away from Maneesh. So I hope they pick wisely.

I really hope its not anything as cheesy as fan and idol falling in love.

YES PLEASE to everything you said. I don't even want Parineeti or Sonam or any other young actress. They really need to rope in a contemporary actress of his.

They better not. He already sort of did that with OSO. Plus its too obvious, lame and cheesy. During the launch of Tag Haeur recently, he did speak about going to Mumbai and meeting Maneesh to understand the challenges of the film. I do remember him saying it was a challenging film. It sort of gave me a Rizwan/MNIK character type of feel when he kept talking about understanding the challenges of the character. But you never know where this is going.😕

Yeah they do need to rope in a contemporary actress because SRK just looks horrible with everyone else. You know, I always looked forward to HNY more than CE...but Farah's random statements and then worse casting Deepika again killed the film for me. Its been a chore watching SRK films for the last 2-3 years especially...and I'd really hate their choice in actress killing everything again.

I have no idea where it will go..but I just hope he is not playing another 20 year old or farcical 40 year old Lonny Tunes buffon.

I will put my faith in Habib Faisal. I always wanted him to direct SRK after DDC, but him writing the film is fine too. As long as YRF films aren't written by Adi Chopra, everything is automatically better. 😆

If its YRF, why not Shmit who directed one of the best in SRK's career?

Manish is decent, but will he ever get guts to say "it's not good, lets do a retake like Shmit did to SRK?

It will be out an out SRK inputs, which I hate most of the time.😆

I love Priyanka as an actress and loved her chemistry with SRK in Don. But I would still rather have someone like Aishwarya who would automatically pique the audience's curiosity and bring the movie higher up because of her supposed comeback. Also, I adore SRK-Ash's chemistry in all three of their films. It still confounds me how SRK has had such brilliant chemistry with both Ash and Kareena as sisters and lovers.😆

On a side note, getting excited coz SRK and Farhan are already conversing on Twitter about planning their FIFA sessions during the shooting of Raees.😃
