YRF's next stars Shahrukh Khan in and as "FAN"

16 December 2013

YRF is pleased to announce that Maneesh Sharma, who over the years has been the biggest fan of Shahrukh Khan, will now get a chance to fulfil his dream of directing the superstar in Yash Raj Films' next, "FAN".

Shahrukh Khan, the man unarguably with one of the greatest fan following globally, will now play the role of being the biggest fan himself in the forthcoming movie.

As Shahrukh Khan announced this morning, "Most of the characters I do are the ones I create... for the first time I am going to play what has created me... I will be in my next a "FAN"."

Directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film has been written by Habib Faisal and will start shooting May 2014.

YRF usually offers SRK good roles so I'm looking forward to FAN. Barring JTHJ but I think nobody could say no to that one since it was Yash Chopra's last film. There were too many sentimental reasons even though I highly doubt that even SRK liked that movie.

Both Kabir Khan and Surinder Sahni were fantastic characters. And of course the original Raj and Rahul came from them too.

It doesn't seem too smart to have a director who has always idolized Shahrukh. I really hope Maneesh knows what he's doing. He better offer his best to SRK since its been a dream of his to direct SRK. lol now I kinda feel bad for Tarun Mansukhani who has been harpering on for ages about his dream is to direct SRK, but he wont offer him anything but the best.

And like others mentioned, I don't think SRK had an opinion on JTHJ himself. Even if he wanted to do ETT or Dhoom instead, he would have stuck with JTHJ for sentimental value and just for the fact that both Adi and Yashji only wanted SRK in the movie. Adi and Maneesh better not mess this one up. Hoping it will surprise us.
