From a young starlet's mysterious death to MMS scandals, from private pictures being leaked out to violent behaviour in public, 2013 has been indeed a year full of controversies. While out B-Town celebs make sure to be in their best behaviour in public, at times they tend to lose their control. Be it stardom or a breach in their privacy, our stars' erratic behaviour has let the gossip mills buzzing. Let us check out at some of the top controversies of this year.
Jiah Khan's suicide: The young starlet's deathunder mysterious circumstances became the topic of national debate with many suspectingthat the actress was murdered since beginning. While many said that she committed suicide as she was out of work, her mother blamed herboyfriend Suraj Pancholi for her death. The six-page suicide note andSuraj's arrest made the whole incident more controversial.
Shah Rukh's third baby: While superstar Shah Rukh Khan was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his third baby via surrogacy, the media went crazy with speculations that the star had gone undergone an illegal prenatal sex test to determine the sex of the child. A social activist had also filed the complaint with the Health Ministry alleging that the actor had determined the sex of his surrogate baby before it was born. However, all these speculations were put to rest when the actor released a press statement. He had written, "The baby was born much before the speculations of 'sex determination' and other 'issues' pertaining to the same were being raised in the media by some organisations.
Sohail Khan-Varun Dhawan's slapgate: Salman Khan's brother Sohail Khan got into an altercation with Varun Dhawan and apparently slapped him. The story goes that Varun had picked up a certain consignment from a vendor known to Sohail. However, when he did not pay up the vendor complained to Khan, who met Varun and gave him a piece of his mind. This led to an argument with Sohail allegedly slapped him. However, both of them refuted this incident.
Salman-Shah Rukh hug: What was expected to be a face-off between the two rivals, ended with a hug. When Salman came face-to-face with SRK at an iftar party thrown by MLA and former minister Baba Siddiqui, they both embraced each other warmly. While the "hug" became a topic of national debate as it hinted that their icy relationship had thawed, there were many who suspected that it was just a mere eyewash and that the two Khans are still each other's biggest rivals.
Ranbir-Katrina snapped at a beach in Spain: While both Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were denying their relationship for months, they were clicked holidaying in Ibiza, Spain The picture shows Katrina in a bikini on the beach with Ranbir, and created quite a storm with Katrina issuing
defensive statements and Ranbir's parents losing their cool over the son's breach of privacy.
Mona Singh's MMS scandal: TV actress Mona Singh became a victim of a scandal when a MMS clip showed her completely nude and looking into the camera and moving from room to room. Not only it caused great humiliation to the actress, the scandal apparently broke her relationship with actor Vidyut Jamwal.
Tanisha-Armaan intimacy: This season of Bigg Boss is mired with controversies. One of the most controversial aspects is the public display of affection by Tanisha and much older Armaan Kohli. According to reports, the duo was caught naked and in an intimate situation by the cameras which are active 24/7 in the house. This news apparently went viral causing lot of embarrassment to Tanisha's family.
IPL controversy: Bollywood actor Vindoo Randhawa, son of late wrestler-actor Dara Singh who has won Bigg Boss in the past, was arrested in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal. This led to speculations if there were other B-Town celebs that were also a part of match fixing
