Yash Raj Films' last venture, the Parineeti Chopra-Sushant Singh Rajput starrer 'Shudh Desi Romance' revolved around a live-in relationship.
However, their forthcoming film, 'Daawat-e-Ishq' will focus on a more serious issue. This under-production venture, helmed by Habib Faisal, is a love story set in the backdrop of the Indian dowry system.
A source says, "Yes the film has a message for the audience, but it does not preach. Keeping the entertainment quotient in mind, the crux of the story revolves around the issue of dowry."
Interestingly, after playing a Jaipur-based girl in 'Shudh Desi Romance', Parineeti Chopra will be playing a Hyderabadi girl in this film.
"She has some really interesting scenes with Anupam Kher, who plays her father," adds the source.
Parineeti Chopra will be paired opposite 'Aashiqui 2' actor Aditya Roy Kapur for the first time. "The lead jodi come from two opposite backgrounds. While Parineeti's character is from Hyderabad, Aditya's comes from Lucknow. The anti-dowry theme is woven into the love story," reveals the source.
After shooting in Hyderabad for a month, the team is currently working on the second schedule in Lucknow, after which they will head to Mumbai to shoot the last leg of the film.
