I wouldn't count Ekta in the list. She wanted to make Fitoor with him and even agreed to his high budget by suggesting that they take in one more producer, but he was the one unwilling to take in another producer as that would mean sharing the profits. (He is getting a profit share for Fitoor).

Ekta has had a bad year. She probably found it difficult to fund a big budget movie all alone.

Shocking that he would have the guts to walk out on a huge star like Katrina...the other newbies are DYING to work with her and he just walks out of it like its nothing, im sure that's commendable and gutsy - lets just hope its worth it and he doesn't fall flat on his face.

Although I know the reason has to do with dates, but still. A very bold move IMO.

Sigh... assuming this article is true... then... I feel if there was any way he could have accommodated fitoor I am sure he would have... This movie was supposed to go on floors in November ... Then got shifted to next year bcuz of Ekta backing out.. and it has left sushant with having to squeeze in dates for this film somehow between DBB and Paani..

And not sure , but I dont think he can walk away from Paani if he is contract bound... it isnt that easy..

Katty signed this project in desperation when Deepika bagged the Imtiaz film despite all her efforts. She will probably be thankful that SSR himself is walking out so that she can do the same without seeming unprofessional. Now if Gattu wants to make this film he will have to find a hero and heroine both. 😆

He should just try to readjust the dates. Sushant seems more than willing to do this project if that is done- he expected it to go on floors in november I guess and lost a lot of time due to it already. And He definitely cannot walk out of Paani now. As Lunza said, Paani seems a bound contract sort of thing while Fitoor seems like a verbal promise.
