He hasn't left bcos of Katrina. The article clearly says that its bcos Gattu is unwilling to adjust the dates of Fitoor.

The line quoted above implies that Gattu has conveyed to Sushant that is confident of getting another actor on board if Sushant chooses Shekhar Kapur over a chance to work with Katrina. Gattu is probably using the Kat card to make him stay.

Sometimes it's not just date problems, it's an excuse not to work with some actors

I remember SRK rejecting Mission Kashmir and some projects saying date problems whereas he was avoiding Preity Zinta. He admitted this after so many years and after becoming friendly with PZ

But if that is the case Sushant would have walked out of the project at the nascent stage itself as Kat has been associated with the project since long. Rather Gattu made official announcements about both being signed and even Sushant went to the extent of talking about Fitoor in an interview and saying how excited he was to be part of it.

sushant should have done this film over paani. Paani might be a bigger film ,but its an act by sushanth to take paani over mentor's film . After all gattu gave him his 1st break. Otherwise he would have been still doing manav-grandfathers role in that serial

I don't know why this big deal about proving loyalty to your mentor is made!

Sushant has not willed his entire life to Abhishek just because he was given a break in his film. Sushant also proved his mettal in the film by giving a standout performance and helping make the film a hit. His contribution to Kai Po Che as an actor might not be as big as Abhishek's as the director, but it is there, in some measure. A lot of people went to watch this movie for Sushant also, because he already had a good fan base from television.

I think these articles about him only prove that he is doing well and in consequence, suffering from the after-effects of his new-found success!

There is a thing called committment. Y to promise somer if u cant fulfil it. N abhishek is his mentor. He have got a reason to be upset. This attitude will not work for him in a long run

The film was supposed to go on floors in November. Sushant is still sitting at home shooting for no films after completing PK shooting cos he must have given his dates to this project. The film got delayed cos of Ekta walking out as producer due to Gattu demanding profit share and now the renewed dates are clashing with Paani.

If you read the article, Sushant still wants to do the project provided the dates be adjusted a little to accomodate his other films now. It is Gattu who is unwilling and saying he can get another actor and yada yada and demanding that preference be given to his film.
