I swear, I used to hate him till I saw Lootera and lo behold, one film and it made me look at him in a completely different light!😳

I think he is a fab, fab actor...the only reason, why he hasn't been taken seriously till now is probably because he always likes to play the clown off-screen...

😕 Say unlike Ranbir Kapoor or Sushant or Aditya, who appear to be so mature and composed in their interviews and off-screen appearances!

But I think Ranveer has a lot of passion in him for his art...that shined in Lootera and now in Ramleela...at least, as per the songs and trailer!⭐️

He is one guy to look out for!

PS : Loved his expression when his eyes fall on Leela as he walks in...a very small gesture...but that is what marks out a good actor from a mediocre one!

PPS : So looking forward to this film...I think bollywood was in desperate need for a full-blown, red-hot, passionate love story, after the mild, sublime Lunchbox and Lootera types (both films, which I simply adored to death!)

Deepika looks DEAD expressions-wise for half the song...it's a pity, really...SLB requires a heroine with more FIRE in her...fire in both expressions and body language...Deepika just isn't cut out for these kind of dance routines...it's beyond her scope of abilities...her acting has improved otherwise as seen in YJHD but this doesn't look it to me.

This is an unpopular opinion but I do think Kareena would have done a better job of this role...she has that spark and fire in her personality inherently...dancing might be doubtful...but the FIRE she would have nailed...

I'm not sure what exact situation this will be in the movie but Leela's character appears to be hurt/shattered/broken yet still dancing in a jalsa for Ram...a situation like this in my opinion deffo needed an actress whose EYES and body language could convey a gamut of emotions...not really coming through in this song by Deepika.

I'm not expecting Deepika to be Ash either...but the comparisons are inevitable cuz Bhansali has returned to the HDDCS kinda genre with this movie...and he seems to work best with Ash...

The current lot of heroines is depressingly inadequate in general when it comes to being the complete hindi film heroine.

Hmmm I think Sonakshi would have been great acting-wise too...but I guess body type wise she doesn't suit the SLB heroine bill...she's a better dancer than all these current girls though😆

That's what I meant--SLB's characters are so loud and OTT that it feels like there's a lot of overacting. So I'm hoping that isn't too much of he case here..but damn she was really scary, and she actually looked more angry than Deepika did. 😆 Her look to Deepika when she did the tilak and then the smile she shared with Ranveer was good too.

LOL we had this discussion post the trailer too..Deepika's eyes lacked that fire back in that trailer also (her intro scene in the first trailer is TOTALLY blank-faced), and I found the fire even less in this song. Frankly I wouldn't even know she's angry until I read all the comments here. 😕

Kareena is a better actress with much better expressions, both body language and eyes wise than Deepika but she has no delicacy, grace...for a SLB heroine either...and her doing this dance would be totally disastrous yaar. 😆 That mujra of hers was enough..don't need to see a garba. 😆
Yes it seems like a tragic point, probably Ranveer has picked his duty over her in some way and she realizes that they will never be together because of too many issues and is dancing it out. Deepika can do the steps..but there's a lot more to dance than just that..be it garba or anything else. Nothing against DP, but I think this isn't her cup of tea, both promos with her didn't impress me...sad because I did really want her to nail this.

Yeah I understand why the comparisons are there...on top of that you have RL PR hyping the fact that this is HDDCS territory again..😆

Thanx for posting Lili Lembdi Re. I always liked it a lot. I miss my Garba and Dandiya days. 😳

IMO Bhansali did a great job by not choosing any popular choreographer and went for the real deal by choosing real Garba dancers. I think by far in mainstream films this Nagada Sang in RL is the most accurate Garba piece shown. Less bollywoodized. Deepika did a very good job picking it up how its supposed to be. I liked her in this a lot.

After repeated watch I am loving this song more. I can totally get why some people have grace issues but considering the amount of zilch breather a Garba gives and keeping the mood of the song I am glad it remained true to its tempo and mood without xeroxing HDDCS in these areas.

There are more Garba pieces shown in the theatrical trailer I am expecting happily 😳

First thing first, Deepika! Shits she was fabulous in this dance! The way she danced and her expressions, sad, but still a wicked smile - Bang on! They were not OTT and full on energy and. either romantic because they were never meant it be! Deepika looks so graceful... So wanna her to win all best actress award this what!

Supriya Pathak role seems interesting! She looks orthodox woman... But ya interesting! Ranveer looks fine nothing special... He has good body!

The music and beats are feat! Great composition by SLB! Hope RamChahheLeela is equally good :D

I'm a fan of Aishwarya and I think she does a better job by far but there are very few who can dance like Ash in BW.

I'm neutral on Deepika and I don't think she does a very good job. She doesnt own the song. Make it her own. Ranveer owns his song. As silly as the dance steps are for him he owns it. Deepika does not.

I quite liked deepika's dancing. i remember farah saying she is trained in techno rock type dances, despite that, her dhoom tana was quite good( it impressed my mother which is a big deal, I am yet to impress her). This one is a folk dance, that too garba, which is highly energetic and the steps are also very close, one bearing upon the other. To that she has to combine angst and love and hurt and other emotions. To that end, I think she did a decent enough job. let us see the song in context of the movie and we can understand better I think. Now Aish's dholi taro do seem classic in comparison but when the song first came on tv, I remember people were more impressed with the singers and the song and the settings than aish and her dancing.

Deepika, despite her beauty and grace, does not have a very commanding screen-presence and hence, despite the song being technically hers...its not suprising that Ranveer (who totally owns every scene he is in!) and Supriya Pathak are garnering more attention!

But Deepika is getting there slowly...she managed to hold her own very well against Ranbir in YJHD and once again in Chennai Express against none other than SRK!

But no doubt about the fact, that Deepika has danced extremely well in this song...its a highly fast-paced number and set against what seems to be a very volatile and emotional backdrop...so keeping that in mind, I think she does a great job!

I read that Deepika sprained her shoulder and neck during the filming of this song, was in a brace..they somehow managed to hide it. Hence, the far-off shots..perhaps??!!
