yeah I saw..I think that was after this one. 😆

but, I'm only comparing these two performances because their characters were very similar..I mean even the name was. Naina Talwar was inspired from Naina Kapur it was pretty obvious..the fact that they both had Karan Johar involved is probably why. 😆

I agree her performance was overrated in YJYD. It was praised cuz she overshadowed Ranbir who wasnt his usual best in that movie.

Btw, I had once chanced upon an RK-Priety video on the song Ishaqzaade. They looked so good together!

I found that video.😆 I wish Preity looked liked this once again

The movies had depth 10 years ago, not the ones today! 👎🏼 Deepika's role was forgettable. Preity was natural as Naina and it was her career best. None of today's actresses deserve to be compared to Preity. 😒

Preity. I could not even get halfway thru YJHD, it is the most overrated film I've seen which only banked upon hype, no substance. Naina for DP may have been one of HER better performances...but Preity comparatively was better, mostly because her character had better transition and metamorphosis. She was much more relatable also on screen. I feel DP's performances can only be compared to her own performances...because she has only proven to be a better actress when you compare her newer work with her older work. Other actors do have one or two such performances that are not just their best...but best overall.

PS- I am only talking about actors. Kat don't count.😆

Chashmish Naina I love... Aman and Rohit's mind you 😆 She hates the rain and that was sooo me and I still remember screaming 'I hate it too' while watching the movie 😆

nice video, they look good..if only Preity didn't ruin her face. I mean she probably would still look older than Ranbir, but at least not a wreck. She looked good for her age to begin with.

I didn't even understand Naina Talwar's character..it was just wayyy too far fetched..and how does she even transition from whatever she was supposed to be to what she became eventually? The script was all over the place. Preity's character was very well written and as you mentioned so easy to relate to. I never liked Preity prior to Kal Ho Na Ho, but her portrayal of Naina made me like her. I thought she was the best part about the movie and I can't really imagine anyone pulling it off as well as her. She simply LOOKED like a Naina and all she really had to do was pull off the role with her acting and I feel she did. Not to mention, Preity's role was somewhat more challenging as her character had to go through different stages which involved several emotions (which actually made sense). Also, they didn't make her glamorous or anything of that sort which helped connect with her character.

More or less, as you said..Deepika's performance is just one of her better performances..it's nothing path breaking..and if I'm not wrong, Preity did a Naina Kapur at a time where there were no characters like Naina. While I was watching YJHD, I couldn't help but think how heavily influenced Deepika's character was to that of Preity's..which didn't help.
