The actor, who is currently shooting Prabhudeva's 'Rambo Rajkumar' opposite Sonakshi Sinha, is reuniting with Bhardwaj again and this time for an adaption of William Shakespeare's popular tragedy Hamlet.

The film titled Haider will be Bhardwaj's final film in the Shakespeare trilogy after he successfully adapted Macbeth to Maqbool and Othello to Omkara.

"I feel fortunate that he has offered me another film and we will be working together again. He is a phenomenal director. He has given me the best role of my life. The role in 'Haider' will be very challenging. Some very fine actors have played Hamlet in the past."

"It is a complex role and I am happy that I am doing a dark edgy, performance oriented film after Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and Rambo Rajkumar. These two are meant to entertain the audience and then I get to challenge myself as an actor in Vishal's sir film," Shahid added.

WOW

it's a difficult character to nail it , let see how good he preforms 😃. If he can do justice to that character, there is every chance of him winning the national award.

Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Hamlet' to star Tabu

Vickey Lalwani, Mumbai Mirror

Their last attempt at Shakespeare yielded the critically acclaimed 'Maqbool' and now Vishal Bhardwaj and Tabu are set to collaborate on 'Haider', an Indian adaptation of 'Hamlet'. The filmmaker who has already zeroed in on the leading pair of the film, Shahid Kapoor andShraddha Kapoor, offered a meaty part to the actress in the dark revenge drama.

A source close to the film told TOI, "Tabu was his first choice for the role and Vishal has been trying to cast her for a long time and it is finally working out."

Tabu had previously played a desi version of Lady Macbeth in Vishal's 2003 film 'Maqbool' and we asked the source whether she plays Queen Gertrude, the siren who drives Hamlet to incest, in the upcoming film.

"No, she does not play Gertrude. But the story of the film progresses through Tabu's character. She plays a strong-willed woman," the source replied. Vishal's version of 'Hamlet' will be set in Kashmir and the film is expected to go on floors by the end of this year.

Wow this will be an interesting pair looking forward to it. Why doesn't VB make a movie of Shakespeare's comedies? I would love to see a bollywood adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing or Midsummer Night's Dream
