'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' made tax free in MP

My review:
I watched this film this Saturday. First thought that comes to my mind when I think of this film is tremendous respect for Milkha Singh. In the media Milkha Singh is projected as the man who came fourth in Olympics which has never been bettered by another athlete till date. But his numerous other achievements are never highlighted. Nor is his struggle to achieve what he did. I am glad films like PST and BMB are being made so that the newer generations do not forget these achievers, their struggles and their triumphs. For a generation running short of patience these achievers can be inspiring on how patience, hard work and perseverance pays.
Coming to the film I was expecting a Lagaan or CDI but it wasnt. I personally found those films more entertaining. But my expectations were wrong. While those films were mostly about a team and one tournament this is a biopic of a sportsman. I think the movie it comes closer to is PST.
Its tough to condense the life of a person into a film. But the incidents chosen by the director were significant and chosen well. I think the climax was fitting and went well with Milkha's background.
The film should have been cut short by atleast 20 mins though. Two songs for the two girls in Milkha's life were not needed. Infact I think they barely had an influence on the events and their roles could have been cut further. Some of the scenes and incidents could have been made crisper.
Overall I give the film 3/5. Farhan was A grade as an actor. He is around 40 and yet you dont really notice that when he is playing Milkha in the age group of 16-25. He has really worked hard for the movie and will sure win some awards. Only thing I found jarring was the 6 packs. I dont think the real Milkha Singh had any 6 packs. Also 6 packs is a recent phenomena and there was no need for it in the movie.
The kid playing young Milkha Singh, Pavan Malhotra, Yograj Singh and Divya Dutta were good in their supporting roles. The narration style in the movie reminded me of ROM's RDB. The only song I liked was the Zinda song. Sonam had nothing to do except smile.

Bhag Milkha Bhag is an absolutely epic movie...dis is what u call a class movie...such an inspiring movie showcasing Milkha Singh's life not just as an athlete bt also as a human being...i think it may go down as one of d finest biopics in Indian cinema...👏
D movie is an inspiration highlighting the virtues of hard work and will power...Its meticulous direction steller performances and Farhaan's breath taking acting along wid fine screen play and xcellent music makes it a must watch...👍🏼
The picturisation is top notch sp d scenes depicting d past horrors of Milkha's life...the movie belongs to Farhaan...salute u sir...wat a performer...👏

I did feel dat all dat Pakistan angle was unwanted...bt otherwise double thumbs up to BMB from my side...👍🏼

I hate to admit it that up until I saw BMB I used to get irritated with Farhan's voice ( don't know for some reason I did, now don't judge me) but after watching the movie I respectfully give my standing ovation to this guy, for his determination, hard work and his perseverance in putting his efforts into this movie...
