First were controversies ands scandals he got embroiled in due to his involvement in politics. It was disastrous for him. No wonder he does tauba at name of politics.
Then his near fatal accident during Coolie which ruined his health and threatened his career.
Repeated failures and losses of ABCL and every venture they started. He was neck deep into debt. He took up KBC and came to films again only to somehow clear his debts. Ghar girwi rakhne ki naubat aa gayi thi.
His career suffered a jolt after demise of some directors like Manmohan Desai and break up of Salim-Javed duo. He had to take up some really shitty films to keep afloat.
Media was doing stories on him how Big B had become Small.

For a while he decided to give up everything and shut himself at home, away from the world.

When losses of ABCL drained their resources he had to get out and look for work.

It was embarassing, insulting and also physically draining phase for him.

He could've remained depressed and deluded like Rajesh Khanna or drunk himself to death like Sanjeev Kumar. Or let out frustration beating up reporters or getting into public brawls.

But he kept kind of calm at least on the outside. And tried his best to wriggle out of crisis.

There is nothing "else" to be especially curious about.

i am certainly not a big fan of his acting. its quite overrated, quite like srk his blockbusters movies have been huge successes on the popularity they got from people. his roles in movies were OTT and miserable to say a least. of course his work in hrishikesh mukherjee's movies was commendable especially Abhimaan. but i can't really give out for his action avatar. that's bizarre. But the fact is that 'Success' is important. Acting doesn't really matter. if you movies are successful at the BO. u automatically become a great actor. noone cares. Amitabh's real acting has been seen in his growing years. Black is an example. He was also good in Rann, Dev, Virrudh.and Baghban.

I don't like him at all. Neither as an actor nor as a person.

Love him as an actor! He is so good! He is extremely entertaining! Bollywood would not be the same without him! However he does some like a bit of a douche in real life!

Brilliantly valid point. He's a great actor without a doubt, but unfortunately the tacky-to-the-extreme AYM image is the one that sticks the most. Sad though.
