Some of them are good especially the female ones. Priyanka is great and one of the best there is in commercial cinema. Lara has impeccable comic timing, one need only watch Challo Delhi to witness her skills. As for the male models, I agree most are wooden but I have a feeling Siddharth will kill that myth pretty soon. He was good for a newcomer in SOTY and broke all stereotypes of male model turned actors.

Nothing against Sid ..But I kind of find him stiff though he is just one film old.I hope he proves me wrong ..Even Bipasha was a model ,she is a decent actor though she is more known for her bold image.

Because without acting talent and good looks or a famous surname you can't make it into Bollywood (or rarely). With the modeling connection, a lot of talentless but pretty faces at least get the chance to get into Bollywood. So, if 5 models and 5 non-models -- assuming both are talentless -- do their respective movies and fail, we will still remember the models for their looks/hype/connection, while we probably will not even recognize the non-models.

So that's why it seems there are so many talentless model actors out there, even though there are equally talentless non-models out there too, just that we don't generally notice the latter group, and the former group gets all the backlash.

I think Bipasha is a pretty good actress, and Priyanka is great.

Also aren't female models more required to be expressive anyway? Not as much for the ramp, but for photo and magazine shoots and all. Like, think of American's Next Top Model and how they are judged on the expressions as well. But with males, it seems like they don't have such vast array of photo shoots. Or perhaps I'm just thinking this because there's no male version of ANTM.
