That's ridiculous and disgusting! 😲 It's been so long since the caste system was abolished but these people still use these nasty derogatory words that too on a public platform like twitter. 🤢

Its not used in a casteist way!

Its a common slang in N.India to refer to a "Dirty looking" man or woman. Churah is another one. Ofcourse the origins of the words are deep rooted into the caste system, but it does not neccessarily imply that today. I'm sure KRK doesn't even know where the word came from. Hell I just found out both Churah and Chammar are actual caste's.😆

Caste system is not abolished Dexy. Only untouchability is. All castes are treated equally by law. Therefore the use of such terms which imply the inferiority of some castes to some others is uncalled for and offensive and needless to add- ignorant.
