my brother went to watch the movie, he dint like it at all, too much of violence, abusive language, crappy story. I asked him whether I should go for it or not, he said I won't understand anything 😆 I've no prob in watching love-making scenes/cleavage show, etc. in some movie so thats not the issue, thats fine but can't stand these desi slangs much coz most of the times never get the meanings, too abusive and in this movie, he says it gets overboard even he couldn't understand lol but our choice of movies quite different and my brother is an idiot 😆 so I shouldn't listen to him and may give it a try 😕

Anyways oh the movie is doing well at BO that means people really liking the movie!?! Maybe everyone liked John's work, he does look like some gunda in the trailer, his look suits the character hes playing in the movie tho :)

Shootout At Wadala Has Steady Monday

Shootout At Wadala had fairly steady Monday with collections being 50% lower than Friday. The film had a normal Monday drop as it collected around 4-4.25 crore nett. The collections are okay on Monday but as the weekend was not that high the film still has a lot of to do over the weekdays and second weekend. The film should close the week at 38-39 crore nett if it keeps up the normal weekday trend till Thursday. The Monday collections of some circuits against the Friday figures (in brackets) are as follows.

Sanjay Gupta shows his desperation to get a BIG HIT by making this kind of movie & his behavior with Komal proves what kind of "Chutiya" he is to take audience for Granted.

It's hard to believe, but i think till the time Sanjay Dutt was with him, he was rocking, even if films were not big hit, his work was excellent... this 1 movie & his Crappiest Work...

Wake up Gupta ji, this is a Eye Opener for U, u have the talent, don't go to this much low level.

This is below average total and majority of distributors will lose money in range of 20-25%. This is 2nd failure form Ekta Kapoor in less than a month after "Ek Thi Daayan".

Shootout At Wadala has passed the Monday test with Rs 4.5 crore (nboc) on it's first weekday at the box office. The Sanjay Gupta directed film dropped by around 50% from Friday, which is pretty much the norm these days.

The four day total now stands at 31 crore (approx) and the film should end it's first week with around 40 crore in the bank. Not too bad for a 'Adult' rated violent film starring John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Sonu Sood and Kangana Ranaut.

Friday - 8.93 crore
Saturday – 8.12 crore
Sunday – 9.29 crore
Monday – 4.5 crore
Total – 30.84 crore

P.S. Occupancy at multiplexes was good for the last few shows of the day. Did the night shows benefit from the ugly Twitter war between director Gupta and a leading trade analyst? We wonder.

Sanjay Gupta::: Huge fan of his work, can watch "Aatish" billion times, so much i love that movie, "Kaante" a EPIC, "ZINDA" - Superb... irrespective of those films working on BO or not, loved his work, which he give special style to his movies, Background music or characters... But with SAW he has given his WORST work ever... a Desperate effort to make film bigger success... Even if this film succeed, it won't matter, Bullshit it is.

Ronit Roy as Ambat::: Class acting, amazing character portrayal, a style to hold cigarette, coming from the 70's-80's era, style of clothing + Superb Dialogue delivery... His role was short, he wasn't promoted, but he made the biggest impact with that Inspector Ambat's role. 👏

Sonu Sood as Dilwar::: Originally he was suppose to play Dawood in the movie, but changed after the trailer released, amazing performance, his scenes with john was the highlight. Younger brother of a big gangster, he carried the role with perfection.

Manoj Bajpai as Zubair:::: His role was smallest among the cast members, very few scenes, but what a karaari performance... loved his style of laughing... "Jis Safaii ki baat kar rahe ho, usmein dudh nahi sadkon pe khoon bahega"

Baaki Sab picture mein bakwaas... "BHENCHOD" is used as MANDATORY WORD to be used in every line?? i mean what?? Abuses/slangs/double meaning dialogues we love... but this muchhh???? kangana ask her 2 leave the house, bhenchod... bus mein chadte hi bhenchod... baar mein baithe hai... bhenchod... haal se bahar nikalkar humne bhi kahan "kya hai yeh bhenchod 😡"

Excessive Abusive language/slangs, no double meaning sidha "Teri maa ko thokha hoga"???? 😡 Just by adding 3 Item songs, openly abusing / thokha thaaki... Awaal Darje ka Chutiyyappaa... Family audience jinhe baaki filmon mein vulgarity lag jaati hai songs se, bhool ke bhi na dekhe yeh picture...

I don't want this movie to succeed, one should not promote this kind of cinema... Movie could have been Excellent, par Itihaas nahi "Chutiyappa" karne ki khujli thi Director & Dialogue write mein... socha public Enjoy karegi... Ghantaa ni karegi enjoy... 😆

Positive phase continues!

And the positive phase continues... SHOOTOUT AT WADALA, which marks the return of Sanjay Gupta after a hiatus, has been embraced warmly by the audience in India and Overseas. Of course, the response to the film is fantastic in Mumbai-Maharashtra, C.P. Berar and Nizam circuits, more than North or East India. But this isn't new!

Recall the business of gangster films like PARINDA, VAASTAV and SATYA. These films won awards and [BO] rewards, but yielded best returns from Maharashtra. Now SHOOTOUT AT WADALA is following their footsteps. However, what has caught a lot of people by surprise is the film's performance outside India. Generally, gangster films, depicting blood and gore, with a generous dose of cuss words/expletives, don't work beyond the shores of India, but this one has proved an exception. In India too, after a power-packed weekend, the film is maintaining steady business on weekdays.

Of course, a successful film benefits all, but the two people who stand to benefit the maximum from SHOOTOUT AT WADALA are Sanjay Gupta and John Abraham. This film was akin to a litmus test for both and the fact that it has notched an impressive total only cements their position in the industry that swears by BO collections. As far as the economics are concerned, a substantial chunk of the investment of SHOOTOUT AT WADALA has already been recovered from the sale of Overseas, Satellite, Music and India distribution rights [a few territories have been retained by Balaji]. The coming days will decide where the distributors stand as far as recouping the investment is concerned. The producers are in the profit zone already!

The second release, BOMBAY TALKIES, was never meant to set the BO ablaze or shatter records. Actually, it's more of a homage to Indian cinema by four top notch directors, caters to the multiplex audience specifically and has limited appeal. Naturally, the film, made at a shoe-string budget of Rs 6 crores [plus 6 cr for P&A], was released at selected plexes mainly. The business has been satisfactory at urban centres, but since the film will release in Overseas after its Cannes premiere, a clear picture will emerge only post that.

The team should thank Sanjay and Vivek who rocked the 1st part and becoz of whom d movie has got such awesome opening dat even if not BB it will be a superhit for sure...
