Well, its been 10 days. The inquest would have probably taken a couple of days. Paperwork takes time. This happened to my uncle who died when visiting his younger son in MD. The older son just flew over, cremated his dad there and brought back the ashes. Much easier. The documentation needed to bring back a body is just time consuming not to mention bringing the body back in a casket, transporting it to the airport, checking it into the flight - can you imagine this being managed by remote from Mumbai? Not to mention that Hindus need to cremate quickly - so this is really much more sensible, cost effective and timely.

But its not PC's choice ...if the family wants to bring him back and cremate him in India...Its the families decision...PC is an outsider...she has to do what they want...

R.I.P. I really hope he is united with his family ASAP and they get to perform the last rites as per their norms and customs. There is nothing worse than not being able to say a final goodbye to the person, you have cherished for so many years.

As for PC- I dont give a f**k. Its common knowledge that she must have known about it for so long, as both articles suggest (specially the one that makes her look like Mother Teresa) and she hasnt used her contacts (yup, those celebs, she tweets pics with) to help the man be reunited with his family.

Even celebs like SRK tweet about unfortunate incidents that take the lives of those who help these stars achieve fame and name.

So sad. RIP. I wish this gets solved quickly.

Though to be fair, if you are going to believe everything else in the article then you might as well believe this part:

While PeeCee remained unavailable for comment, a source close to her said that her manager has been in touch with the Indian Embassy to try and work out a solution. "We would like the crisis to resolve as early as possible," said the source.

This is just awful. The poor family is already under such a huge strain, and her office couldn't get anything done? Terrible.

Priyanka Chopra and her office has been working on getting Jiban Patra's body back to India. A spokesperson from her office said, ''This is a very unfortunate and unexpected situation. Our deepest condolences go out to Mr. Patra's family. Our aim throughout was to ensure that Mr. Patra remains were brought back to his family at the very earliest.''

The reason stated by Chopra's office is that an NOC was needed from the family only after which the hospital and police authorities would release Patra's body.

Owing to some delays in paperwork from the family's end, the repatriation of the body was delayed.''

Chopra also delayed her return to India to ensure that the everything was in place for Patra's remains to be repatriated to India. The spokesperson added,''We have been in constant Touch with the family to keep them updated on the matter. The actor is looking at helping the family including take care of education of his children.

I do think this article should be added on the first page alongside the original article.
Its up to people to decide what they believe, but I think people should be presented with both sides of the story.
I've seen it happen time and time again. A celeb gets crucified for an event coz they choose to remain silent, so one side gets a lot of coverage. By the time the celeb comes out with their side of the story, the damage is done.
Not saying celebs are saints obviously, but they're not demons either as is often portrayed in most negative articles.

This said, I do agree that PC should have at least MENTIONED the dude in some tweet or interview or at least not been happily tweeting away as if nothing happened. He was her assistant for a while, the man traveled with her. Is his death so insignificant an incident that it didnt phase her in the least?

Well.. I do agree with you on that account. many of us are quick to judge. At best I can hope that it was too private of an incident for her to speak about. Wasnt she very secretive about her dad's illness ( or is that just me?). Not everything has to be aired in public.

But her tweeting selfies and talking about TOIFA make it seem as if she didnt give a f**k. And I checked her timeline. Its not as if she tweets ALL the time. She takes two/three day breaks, so if she wanted to show respect but not speak about it, she could have avoided some frivolous talk/social media. Oh well!

This is really sad.. PC is cold hearted. I always get the feeling from her interviews that she is insensitive to others.
