Each and every actor has had history of crap films in his career maybe it AB or Dllip Saheb! U can't ignore other list of films he has enacted in and Yes He is a Legend! The craze, the love we Indians actually show to ABSr is quite relabel and explains that he is no less than a LEGEND

what is the reason of ignoring...i find most of his movies down to crap and No ! i don't consider him a legend at all. and it doesn't matter to me that other does...simply the same reason why i don't feel proud how a OTT movie like SHOLAY is considered the best film in bollywood. seriously doesn't bollywood have balls to make a better movie than Sholay.

When was Sholay released in 1970s - Then for people the film was iconic! Same way DDLJ in 1990s was iconic even though it wasn't any new concept! As Years go perception towards film changes and people start looking films with totally diff. view! For this generation youth, those films might be cliche but then they were iconic (nd still are)
And Please don't compare with HW! I M PROUD OF MY BW Industry

hes not particularly there for the box office hits or making 100 crores or to "make a mark" or to compete with the other actos...hes there because ppl love writing roles for him and having him act in their movies...
hes achieved a LOT in his lifetime and its commendable to see him put such effort and passion into his work even at this age...

hes reached tht stage where flops, competition, age..nothing effects his stature...

at 67, the guy played Auro in Paa.
Roles are written with him in mind, cheeni kam.
What else does he want?

he brought the trend of aeging actors in central role back.

The man is a legend.

Won't say he has lost it, he was down very hard once and he is just working non stop to make sure it never happens again.

offcourse if he only ditches his twitter bhasans and use a more simpler english.

sholay is still iconic...i wasnt even born in the 70s but i realize why this film is so huge...just because it was a masala film dosent automatically de merit it...it was a film with stunning technical aspects (background score and visuals) and some gr8 writing...

He does not have anything to lose. He has done all types of roles and so personally he can feel satisfied. And he has given enough movies that make his fans happy. Yes, he has not had a big hit in the past few years but he has shown actors that getting old does not mean having to retire from movies or come in 5-10 mins character roles. And he has, through personal experience, shown the importance of being able to switch the kind of roles they do. His late 80s and 90s were disastrous and the phase he is going through now is nowhere as bad as that.

Today, there are too many movies being made and every other day a new face being launched. To hold on and still be considered for Paa, Rann, Aarakshan, etc is a compliment to his status in this field when there are others who can be cast and at a lower rate. And at least, his presence does not pull down a movie. Aaraksan had initial occupancy rates of around 70%. Compare this with Himmatwala with <50% and that too after all the promotion (a number that can be compared with Rann's initial).
