After making her international singing debut, actress Priyanka Chopra has lent her voice for Disney's animated film Planes.

The actress has dubbed for an Indian plane, called Ishani, in the movie, which is a spin-off of Cars and Cars 2. The film is slated to release in India on July 26.

Film's director Klay Hall says he became a fan of the Indian beauty after watching her in Dostana.

"We decided to make India a stop on the race for two reasons: practicalitythe planes needed to refuel in that region of the world – and aesthetics – India is a beautiful, exotic country that many of us had experienced... I became a fan of Priyanka after seeing her film Film's director Klay Hall says he became a fan of the Indian beauty after watching her in Dostana," Hall said.

"She's a triple threat – an actor, singer and dancer and we noticed that when she came in to record her lines, she attracted the attention of a lot of people who'd stop by to watch her in action. Priyanka exudes heart, charm and warmth, and we're incredibly blessed to have her as part of our cast," the director added.

The picture of the aircraft, to which PC will be lending her sweet voice, is out. It looks funky and colourful – just like Priyanka's vibrant personality. Shrouded in shades of red, yellow, purple and green, Ishani looks like a plane which loves to fly at its own sweet pace. There's this happy-go-lucky quality about the character – but we might be wrong! Ishani might just shock the living daylights out of us by turning out to be an ambitious li'l machine, making The Wright Brothers proud of her wherever they are.

Waiting for the promo to hit the screens and hear Ishani's voice – after all, its apni Priyanka Chopra who has bagged this interesting Hollywood offer. We can only be proud!

Priyanka Chopra has lent her voice for a character called Ishani in action-packed 3D animated film 'Planes'.

It was a remarkable day in director Nikhil Advani's life as he received the National Award for his stereoscopic 3D animation film Delhi Safari. Released on the 19th of October 2012, the film won the award of the Best Animation Film.

Delhi Safari takes its viewers to an interesting journey with cross-cultural characters. The film highlights the real world themes about urban sprawl and the effects of humanity on the global ecosystem. The animation in the film certainly defined the new age technology. Director Nikhil Advani and the team of animators at Krayon Pictures have put time, energy, passion and 3D technology into ensuring that their family entertainer is of a standard thus far not seen in the nation. It is also one of the few animation films that did well in the overseas market. Apart from the new-age animation, Nikhil has also made sure that the story of the film is heartfelt.

With an interesting story-line and new-age animation, Nikhil Advani's Delhi Safari is an entertaining crossover piece and well deserving to win the National Award!
