That is the problem the pr was bad. Im sure their hits were good but srk,salmna,aamir,Kajol & lolo had good pr. While Raveena did most movies with Akshay and Govinda and media never wrote about them so logically they did not write about her much.

it was basically blamed to Akshay...
Raveena was considered number 2 after Madhuri in 1994 with hits like laadla, dilwale, Mohra, and cult andaz apna apna and aatish...
Trade pandits predicted her the next number one..
but alas...she has been trapped by akshay kumar... and at her peak in 1994 she left movies and sit at home not working (her 95 n 96 releases were late releases of early 90's) in films at all at akshay's marriage promise, they were even engaged but later he ditched her.
She came back in 1997 with ziddi and ghulam e mustafa, and even got National award for Daman, but alas...never got that position which she truly deserved and was very near to, but Akshay detracked her completely.

absolutely...Raveena's karizma & aura in early to mid 90's was unmatchable...
that were the 2 years of sitting at home for akki followed by a long spell of depression that took away that sheen from her and the supreme position she truly deserved.

I have to slightly disagree with you on this.

IIRC Salman said in an interview he never had a PR manager. Katrina Kaif convinced Salman to get one. I doubt Salman had PR in 90s.

I also think Aamir did not have one. He had stopped giving interviews to quite a few magazines. He learnt his lesson from SRK about how to handle the media and market oneself.

SRK is a marketing genius among the Khans. Aamir and Salman were late to catch up and now SRK seems to be struggling of late...😊
